Today was another Walking Dead marathon :)
Plus the new episode!!!!
I just saw the previews for next week...it looks sooooooo good.
Now I know why I would rather watch marathons on DVD then on regular television.
Commercials.
I don't like them very much.

I am going to share a card I made at Scrapbook for Heart.
I saw this idea at Pine City Scrapbooking.
It is not exactly the same of course, but pretty dang close :)
I coloured the image in with my Stampin' Up markers.
And some of my sparkle twine ;) And some sparkle on the flowers.

Today's television craft, was organizing my blog and YouTube addresses.
I like to keep track of who sent me happy mail and what I had sent back.
I haven't been the best at keeping up and am probably a few months (at least) in sending out "Thank Yous" So that is the reason why I came up with a system.
Lets hope it helps. Because I need all the help I can get.

Funny Story:
The other day, Ashley wanted me to do something for her, like sew a button on her jacket or something.
She could tell I really didn't want to do it, so she told me she would do something for me.
Me: "And what could you possibly do for me"?
Ashley: "Dye your hair".
Me: "What, you don't like my hair, you don't like the grey in it".
Ashley: "No mom, its pretty. It looks like strands of tinsel in your hair".

I love how quick witted she is. I wish I was like that.
I think of something clever to say in the middle of the night, a little to late, lol.

I Smashed with the Walking Dead

Today hubby and I watched the whole Season 1 of the Walking Dead.
I am so pumped that tomorrow is the start of the new episodes.
So in order to completely get prepared for it, we decided to have a Walking Dead marathon this weekend :)
So we made a huge taco dip, the layered one with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, salsa and lots of other goodies in it. Plus I bought a 2 liter of Coca-Cola. Yup went over my quota for the day, lol.

Not sure if you are like me, but I can't watch television without a project or two in front of me.
Grabbed my Copics and put some pretty tape around each marker to identify which Copics are mine.
I am not worried about someone taking them, as the tape is easy to take off, but just so it is easier when to know which ones are mine during a crop.
That took a few hours to do.

Then I worked on my Smash book.
I have seen some beautiful smash books and the ladies have added photos to their pages. I think theirs are done more on a daily basis though.
I use my smash book for our mini family trips. I wasn't going to put photos in it. I was just going to use it for memorabilia that I pick up.
Well I changed my mind and put in some smaller photos.
I added the blue paper as I didn't like the paper in the book.

When we went to MOA, there is a magic store there, the guy called Kristy and I over to help him with some tricks. And of course I had my camera with me ;)
Had to get the yummy food that we love to eat every time we go there ;)

This was Wayne's birthday, hence the birthday tag :)
Humm a picture of the crepe place, you think I like these, lol.

Wayne is having a bit of a nap on the couch right now.....oh joy, I get to hear him snore at night and during the evening, how lucky am I?
We are going to watch a few more movies, drink plenty of pop and I am going to do a few more "TV crafts".

A Heart Tree card

Today was a good day.
I got my baby back. That's right my jeep is now back in my driveway, where it belongs :)
They showed me the bill to get the dents out and the new hood from the hail damage.
It was $6548.00, luckily with the insurance we only had to pay $300.00

I thought I would share another card I made at Scrapbook for Heart.
I used one of my new stamps :)
I coloured this one with my Stampin' Up markers. Added sparkle to some of the hearts.
Leslie ( a lady sitting beside me at scrapbook for heart) gave me her Smooch to try. I think it is called smooch. It looked like nail polish.
I like the pearl look it gave. What I didn't like was it took away from the colour I coloured the image with.

I made this accordion flower with a cupcake wrapper.
I wanted it even so tried to do a running stitch with a thread and needle. I tore the paper, lol.
So I just scrunched it as evenly as I could.
Put some twine in the button and slapped that puppy on there :)

Onto My Day:
Tonight was Scrapbooking Night.
Sharon came by and we each made a card. I also worked on my Smash book from when we went to Minneapolis. I left some space for a few photos. I wasn't going to add photos to this book. I was just going to put memorabilia in it, but I changed my mind ;)

Tomorrow, Wayne and I are going to have a Walking Dead marathon....okay, for the next 2 days we are going to have a Walking Dead marathon :)
We plan on making a taco dip and I bought a 2 liter bottle of Coca-Cola. Man I am going to enjoy this weekend, lol.

Santa mini and hubby is scrappin'

I have finally finished, and did a video of the Santa Mini Album from my Design Team Package.
It is a very simple mini, but as it is going to a friend of mine that doesn't scrapbook, I needed it to be as easy as possible.
Plus she live in Whitehorse, so I can't visit her to show her how it all works.

Yesterday Wayne was on his laptop working on a book to get printed.
It was photos from our Montana trip. He was playing around with the layouts and doing some journaling.
I had said to him "You know what your doing don't you?" ..... "Your scrapbooking".
His reply "Am I?"
Love that my hubby is joining me in my craft, even if he doesn't realize it, lol.

Onto My Day:
Wayne got a call from the dentist as they had a cancellation. He paid when he left this time, lol.
I went out for lunch with Ashley and we did some running around.
Tidied up my scrap/craft room.
Caught up on my e-mails.
Made this video.

I was tagged to do a video on 20 of my favourite or must have items for 2011.
All the way home from Minneapolis I kept thinking of what to pick.
Would you believe I only came up with 8 items.
I am a simple crafter and a lot of the things I use are free or I make myself.
But in the end I did come up with 20 things :)

Onto My Day:
I had a dentist appointment today.
Happy I didn't have any cavities, wasn't happy about the bill though.
I was a bit shocked when they gave me the bill, then noticed Wayne didn't pay for his last visit, lol.
I cleaned the house a bit today.
And cleaned my scrap/craft room a bit. My desk is all nice a neat again. I love a neat and organized desk :)

No it wasn't take out, I made lasagna ;)
My daughter is so happy as she bought her camera today. It is a 5D Mark II.
Plus she got it for $600.00 less then advertised as she has been waiting so long for it, plus she knew the sales guy.

You got my Heart

1st off thank you for all the Anniversary wishes from yesterday :)

Here is another card I made at Scrapbook for Heart.
I used all my new stamps that I bought on our trip for all my cards. See I use what I buy, teehee.
I also didn't want to bring my Copics to the crop, so I brought all my Stampin Up markers to colour my images.
I also used a lot of girly colours on my cards.

So here is one of my favourite cards from that day.
I used stickles on her hairband, and sparkle rhinestones on her heart.
Here's a tip...put on the sparkle After you run it through the big shot.
If you look close, you can see one got a bit smooshed.

I used one of the heart buttons and the twine that I purchased from our trip :)
See I really did need all those goodies ;)

Onto My Day:
I worked all day.
And I am finished month end, yahoo :)
Hubby took the jeep in for the hail damage.
The hood have over 600 dents on it. They said that the would just replace the hood. I really didn't think there were that many dents in it.
The repair shop said they would have if for a few days, so our insurance supplied us with a rental.
In the insurance agreement they were to supply us with a vehicle that is comparable in size and value to the one being repaired.

Here is what the rental company supplied us..a Mazda. Not a 4x4 which I might add. Plus not close to the same size, lol.

Happy 24th Anniversary

Today is mine and my hubby's 24th Wedding Anniversary.
Wayne and I didn't have a big wedding.
Actually we didn't have a wedding at all, we eloped.
I made my own dress. Which wasn't really a dress at all but a pretty white satin skirt with a blazer blouse :)
My girlfriend Debbie and, her then husband, Craig stood up for us.
We didn't have a reception, we didn't have a honeymoon, we didn't even go out for dinner.
But we are still together after 24 yrs of marriage. Just proves a point that I have. We didn't need a big fancy wedding to celebrate our love to the world. Because the only people that need to know our love for each other ... is each other.
I would love to have a honeymoon now though ;)

Here is the card I made hubby for our Anniversary.
I bought this stamp from Michael's, I thought it was so cute.

I used some pop dots to raise the image.
When I saw this stamp I was planning to use some pretty pink papers. But figured those colours wouldn't be the best choices for hubby's card.
I won't share the inside of the card as I had already wrote in it. I really don't think you want to read the mushiness I wrote to hubby ;)

We went out for supper to the Keg.
I was going to buy Wayne a nice engraved wedding ring to replace his old thinning one, but we all know the story with that.
But I'm over it ;)

I thought I would share another photo of my group at the Scrapbook for Heart crop.
I posted this photo on my Face book page and this is what Kristy wrote.

I think most of us can relate to this, lol.

15 hours of Scrapbook for Heart

Just came back from Scrapbook for Heart, and of course, I had a blast.
How could I not with these ladies ;)

We named our table the Crafty Queens :)
We had the "Clean Queen", "Queen Bee", "Evil Queen" and "Queen of Hearts".
Aren't we just purdy :)
These ladies are such an awesome group. I was laughing most of the time.
We even came up with a few themes for next year.
I hope we can get together before then though.
A couple of the ladies from my table won some nice prizes...sadly I wasn't one of them.
But I did manage to get 6 cards completed and I finished up my mini album.

I wanted to give the ladies a little treat so I made these last night.

This is what was inside them.
Oh you want to know what is inside of these?

They are pretzels with a Hershey's kiss on top and then sugar sprinkles on top of it all.
You put it in the oven for 4 minutes at 200.
Fast, Easy and Delish :)
It is late and my mind is blank on who's blog I got this from, sorry. If it was from you, let me know. I told you I was going to try them ;)

Unpacking and Packing back up

We made it home safe and sound :)
Ashley was at work when we got here. But she asked to get off work a bit early as she missed us :)
She picked up a Birthday cake for Wayne on her way home and then served us supper.
Supper came after she checked out every one's purchases ;)

Sharon came by tonight for scrapbooking night. But it was more for a visit as I was packing.
Packing?!?!?
You would think I should be unpacking as we just came back from our mini trip.
But tomorrow is Scrapbook for Heart, an all day and all night crop, so I was packing up :)

I keep adding more stuff to my bags.
I have to stop going into my scrap/craft room ;)

Boy you guys love to see what I buy :)
I had 35 comments on yesterday's post about my shopping spree, lol.
Sorry today wasn't as exciting for you.

We went to Mall of America and there is only an Archivers there.
I picked up a few things. I wasn't sure if I had bought a certain paper pack yesterday. But because I purchased from an Archivers the teller was able to look at my purchases from yesterday on the computer, even though I bought it from a different one.
Turns out that I had bought it already ;)
She also gave me the coupon through my email ;)

Today was meant for the girls shopping...and well, it was all about the food for me today, lol.
Started it all off with a crepe. I dream of these things :)
This one is banana caramel.

Next I saw this giant peep. Then went inside and saw this giant peep swimming in chocolate :)

And I came out with these :)

Last but not least we went out for supper.
Today is my hubby Wayne's Birthday, so I treated the family to Red Lobster :)
Here is my meal, the same one I get every time we come here. Love my shrimp.
Hubby got Steak and Lobster.

Time to get all the receipts in order for tomorrow.
So a short post for me as I am now going to warm up my leftovers and have a late night snack ;)

Our morning started early.

We left the house at 6:00am. And if you know me, you know I am not a morning person.
But I was quite proud of myself as I didn't fall asleep during the drive until we were a couple hours into it ;)

First stop Ryden's, where I picked up my order of my new copic colours :)
And some happy mail from Pea :)
Sad thing was it was pitch black outside and Wayne can't drive with the interior lights on.
So I had to enjoy how everything felt, lol.

Next stop, Pine City Scrapbooking.
They have a wall of Penny Black and House Mouse stamps....Tracy, you would love this :)

We then went out for a very late lunch.
Then Scrapbookers Too.
Picked up a few Magnolia stamps ;)
Some Copic papers Neenah and XPress It.
And some other purchases that make me happy :)
And that's what it is all about, keeping me happy, lol.
They changed their rewards coupon. At first she said I couldn't use then, they had to be transferred to the new system. I had 2 full stamp cards :(
But once we talked about it, she let me use one of my full stamp cards and transferred the other one to the new system :)

Picked up some papers from Archiver's.
Like I need more paper, lol. But honestly I did need the G45 Alice papers in 6x6 paper pack.
Notice some more twine.
I was a bit ticked with Archivers. I couldn't print my coupon for some reason. Even though they had my email, she wouldn't give the the lousy 40% off coupon. Like my $4.00 affected their bottom line,lol.

I even made it to Joann's :)
Of course almost everything was on sale.
But I handed out the 40% off coupons to the family and we all picked up a memento inks for me.

Lastly Michael's.
I needed a new large Momento ink pad. I have tried looking for ink re-fills for these pads, but have yet to find them.

I know it looks like I bought a lot...okay I did buy a lot.
But everything at home is at least 40% or more then the regular price here. So when I come here I bring my coupons and go crazy.
At home a Tim Holtz distress ink is $8.49, here it is $4.99 regular price.
The Momento 3 pack inks at home is $16.99 here it is $9.99 regular price.
And I do share everything I purchase with my scrap booking friends :)

Recording my Distress Inks

I went in my scrap/craft room, got side tracked again and started organizing.
I needed some way to keep track of my distress inks....but I one that I could take with me when we go on our trips.
So I printed out the distress ink printable list on sticky labels and then inked up the colours that I own. That way if the colour isn't inked, then I ~~need it~~ could purchase it if I see it at a good price.

I made this to fit in my smash travel journal. But after I made it, I saw that the binding holes are closer together then my Bind It All does.

I also wanted to a way to remember some of the stamps I own.
Not only that, but it gave me an excuse to stamp them up.
If you remember me saying before, that I couldn't buy anymore stamps until I inked up the ones I have?
Well I inked them up ;)

I will show you those on another post. As I need a way to distort the images....don't want to get in trouble for sharing images....oh that's right, that happened already :-0
A few of you have asked what a hot knife is.
It is like an exacto knife but you plug it in and it gets hot....very hot.
It is what I used to cut the thin foam for the backs of my rubber stamps.

Look what came to visit us today :)
There were 8 deer hanging around today.
There is so much bush here that they love it.
It doesn't hurt that many of my neighbours have bird feeders and feed the little animals around here :)

Copic Paper Organization

I went down in my scrap/craft room today, to put together a couple of parcels I am going to mail when we go across the border.
Well, I got a bit side tracked and started organizing, lol.

I organized my Copic papers.
I had them all in a bookcase, stacked on top of each other.
But sometimes they would get mixed up and I would have to try and figure out which papers were which.

I bought this plastic file container from a garage stamp sale last fall. It was new and only cost me $1.00.

This is what I was planning to do with it all along. But just never got around to it.

You can see I used my trusty label maker.
That thing just makes me happy :)
So I labeled each of the types of papers.
But not only that, I have them attached with a clip and have the names of the papers on a sticky note attached to the top paper.
I can never get them mixed up again.

The 1st photo, I put my water colour paper pad in the very front of the folder.

Here is the folder closed and ready to be transported anywhere I want to go.
Nicely organized and labeled.

This makes me Happy :)

I also mounted all my stamps today as well.
I bought a hot knife to cut out the EZ mount foam.
Love this thing.

I was just going to do one stamp, as I wanted to use it. But I thought that since the knife was hot, I might as well do all that needed to be done.
I just have to say....I had way more stamps that needed to be done then I thought.
Which means I had way more stamps that I haven't used yet.

Can you guess what this is made from?

It is a bag made from an envelope.
I wanted to work with some Spring colours, so this is what I came up with :)
Just a close up to see the embossing I did on here.

Onto My Day:
I was asked to go shopping with Lynne and Denise.
They want to decorate our table for when we go to Scrap for Heart. Last year our table theme was Survivor.
This year it is Crafty Queens.
I am going to get some crafting done, but I am they type of person to go with the flow, so that's what I'm doing.
So we went to the dollar store to pick up some tiaras and jewels :) Then we went to Michael's.
Those ladies sure know how to browse, lol.
I was chilled all day today. It wasn't that cold. It was about -11C, but I seemed to be chilled to the bone. So I read my book in my hot bath :)

Whats up with Santa?

Yesterday Valentines, today Christmas...whats up with that, lol.
I am working on this mini for a friend of mine that was in the "Pay It Forward" on face book last year.
I am thinking she will use it for her grand children.
So i am going to keep it cutesy.
I had such problems with this cover. I was so frustrated.
Nothing was working. I stamped and used clear embossing on the frame. I then inked on top. It was too close to the same colour. So I was disappointed.
Then I got some paint on it, so had to fix that up.
Santa didn't stand out on the background so I inked the background paper.
I paper pieced Santa (except for his face I coloured with flesh coloured copics. \
Santa is still missing something. I thought it might be his eye, but I think it may look odd if I draw it in.....well especially my drawing.
Added some faux snow and put some sparkles in it. Not sure how I am liking that, but it looks better with it then without.
Added these cool die cuts that Schell cut for me :)
I am hoping this looks better in the morning.

Onto My Day:
Wayne went to our cottage to plow the snow and check on things.
I stayed behind and slept :)
I was thinking of going with him, but I didn't even wake up when he left.
Kristy was decorating something for Valentine's day and asked me to help her with the cricut.
Wayne and I watched Tremors ;)
I caught up on some of my book work.

Valentines card and some very Happy news

Today was a good day :)
I went to my friends (and Stampin' Up rep.). She was having a card making party and we made a card.

I brought my SIL and Friday Night Scrapbooking partner, Sharon, along with me :)
I really like this card.
Love this embossing folder and the shiny sparkle hearts :)

Then Sharon and I came back to my house and she worked on a layout.
I worked on my newest mini album.

I got to talk to my friend tonight as well :)

I also received a call from my cardiologist today.
He had my results from my Muga scan. I was really surprised as I thought I would have to wait until I saw him in August. Plus the doctors always tell you they won't call unless there is a problem.

Well I am so pumped as he told me my injection fraction is 49%!!!!
In 2004 it was 30%. In April of 2011 it was 30%- 35%. July it went up to 40%.
And yesterdays it was 49%. This shows that the medicine is working!!!
When I got off the phone I said to my hubby "Well, I guess I have no excuse anymore why I am fat and lazy....Damn! He just laughed as he was as happy as I was :)

Chocolate and some Radioactive substance

What is this you may ask yourself.
It is my daughter Ashley's idea of dessert. LOL.
Her boyfriend Tyler had supper here tonight, and this is what she served him for dessert. A chunk of Toblerone with a plop of peanut butter.
Oh yes, I can't forget the blop of peanut butter on the side ;)

Today I had to go for my Muga scan.
It actually was pretty quick. I didn't even get to read a page out of my book.
You know if I forgot a book to read, I would have been there half the day.

This was my first injection.
I should have taken a photo of the second injection.
The one that came in a steel box with a toxic symbol on it, lol.

I did remember to get the paper saying that I did get this test done if I get stopped at the border.
I heard that this one girl brought her grandfather for this test, then brought him home.
She then drove over the border and the alarms went off. She didn't have the paper work (as she didn't get the procedure) but the radioactive substance was in the vehicle from the grandfather.

We won't be going over the border for a bit, so I am sure it will out of my system before then.

That is about all to my day today.
I seemed to be glued to the Internet the rest of the day...thank you pinterest and YouTube, lol.

Thankful Thursday:
For medical technology.
For the Internet, even though it is a time sucker.
For my hubby picking me up a couple of cookies when I was at my test.
They picked up subs and know I don't like my subs soggy :)

He-Art Journal video

I made a video on my He-Art Journal book.

Onto My Day:
I did my morning walk on the treadmill. I could have went outside, but I didn't want my new runners to get dirty ;)
Then I talked on the phone for 1/2 hour and walked around the house. Double the exercise ;)
Wayne had to go to the dentist today. He said our dentist had a new machine that could detect mouth cancer. So I am happy to report that Wayne doesn't have it :)
Thankfully, they have all these machines to detect cancer, I wish they would find a cure for this awful disease.

I received a phone call from the hospital this afternoon to confirm my appointment for my MUGA scan. I didn't receive a date for this test yet, lol.
I know my doctor requested one.
Luckily I don't have a life and am able to make the appointment.
I bet I will get the paperwork in the mail tomorrow, lol.
Just so happens we are crossing the border soon. I could set off the alarms with the radioactive substance they inject into my veins.when we drive through. So I hope I remember to pick up the papers to explain what I had done.
I would be so embarrassed it they went off. It would be a funny for future stories though ;)

I really didn't do to much today. Unless you think laundry is entertaining ;)
Oh..I did order the new colours of the Copics today...now that is exciting :)

Oh Marilyn, your gorgeous

Yesterday Ashley had to go to the mall and checked out Home Sense.
She took a photo of something she thought I would like and shared it with me when she got home.
Boy my daughter knows me well :)
Isn't she gorgeous :) She reminds me of Marilyn Monroe.

I was thinking of attaching my ribbon on the bottom to look like her skirt.
Not sure about that idea yet. Tell me what you think.
First, I have to find a place for her as I have no room in my craft/scrap room.
I told hubby that I was going to put her in my sewing room.....but oh wait, I don't have a sewing room ;)

I needed some new running shoes as well.
The last ones I bought were not very good and I have been wearing them outside.
What I usually do is have one pair for walking outside and one for walking on the treadmill.

Look at that pretty colour :)
I think that beautiful burgundy colour will help me walk farther, don't you

I didn't get to create today, hopefully tomorrow.

A Wreath of Sweetness

I got crafty today :)
I love to do all types of crafts, but lately it has been mainly paper crafting.
Mind you if I think about it, this goes into the paper crafting category as well.
I saw this idea on Katie's blog. I thought it was a perfect solution for my 30+ candy canes I have left over from Christmas.

I only had 16 red and white candy canes, and I noticed that Katie had 18. I do have over 20 peach flavoured ones, they are an orange colour. And 2 green and red ones. But I don't think a peachy heart wreath is that Valentinesy ;)
One of these things is not like the other.

Did some book work.
Hubby called the insurance company about the hail damage we got back in April. Yes we are a bit behind.....remember my goal to stop procrastinating ;)
I received some happy mail today. I was asked if I would be willing to make a mini album with a kit that this company supplied to me. The mini is so neat and the papers and embellishments are gorgeous.
I will share that when I am done...but have a Christmas one to finish up first.
Girls are all home again tonight :)

My milkshake brings the boys to the yard....

Yesterday I made Kristy and her boyfriend Blake a milkshake.
I didn't get around to cleaning out the milkshake maker last night.
Ashley wasn't here, so this morning she saw the evidence and asked if I could make her one.

So being the soft hearted mom that I am, I made all the girls one :)
When ever I make or hear the word milkshake, I have to sing that "milkshake" song. It drives my daughters crazy. Hubby just says "Yes, yes it does", lol.

Onto My Day:

Today was a great Sunday.
Television, some YouTube videos and catching up on some blogs :)
Oh y,a and balancing year end ;)
But the best part was everyone was home :) Even though we are all doing our own thing, I love to know that everyone is here, where they should be.
Plus I love that we are all together for dinner :)

I am elated that I have completed it.
Thought I would share a video of it with you all.
I know it is clean and simple and no extra dodads, but I really do love how it turned out:)

I am hoping to work on this years on a more regular bases.

Onto My Day:
Slept in...well actually I lazed in. You know, when you just don't want to get out of bed because it is so warm and cozy in there. And you know it is freezing cold outside.
Hubby bought himself a Mac Book Pro. He thinks when my laptop dies I should get one as well, but everything is different on it, and I don't like change.
We ordered out for supper tonight. I thought I would give Wayne a day off from cooking, lol. Boy I would make a great husband, lol.

My Cricut Hates Me

My Cricut hates me.
It looks all pretty and sweet, but I know it hates me.

How do I know this.
1. Well it never cuts to the size that is says. I have tricked it by using printer paper for test cuts.
2. The paper sometimes lifts off the mat as it cuts. Yes even when I have a new mat.
3. Layering. I won't even go there.
4. Sometimes the cuts don't go all the way through the paper. Stampin' Up paper, that stuff is thick.
5. Sometimes it tears the paper and rips the letters.

I know so many of you are experts in this, but me not so much.
My SIL and I went in on the first one about 5 yrs ago. And then Hubby and the girls got me the big one for Mother's Day.
I wish some of you lived closer and could ~~do my cutting for me~~ teach me.
I have to be fair to all machines though, if they have a plug in I think they are out to play with my mind.
Ever see Maximum Overdrive, yup that's how I feel :)

But I am happy to say that I totally finished Project 365 for 2011. And I couldn't be more proud and happy that I not only did it, but that I completed it.
Bring on some new crafts......Should I go back and do 2010?
I'm thinking about it.

Onto My Day:
Wayne and I had to do a bit of running around.
Then we went out for lunch....to a sit down restaurant. Applebees :)
I needed some adhesive for my ATG as I was totally out. So off to my LSS. She had so many new stamps. So I have to tell the truth, I broke down and bought 2.
I know I said I wasn't going to buy any new stamps until I used all my older ones first.
But I was thinking of just stamping them out, just so I could buy some new ones anyway, lol.

Well the photos are done, the journaling is complete.
Yeah, the hard part is done!!!
I still have to make the cover pocket for each month.
I plan on doing that tomorrow as I have to get out the my dreaded Cricut.

Onto My Day:
Wayne drove Kristy to school. It was -30C (that was without the windchill). Why wouldn't I want him home :)
Then he ran to Canadian Tire to pick up some things. He came home with one (of my many) favourite chocolates. These are hard to find, but Canadian Tire usually has them :)
Right now we are watching old Bon Jovi video's.....God Jon Bon Jovi is hot...just thought I would share ;)

Coming to the home stretch....P365

I thought I would share with you the nest I have made for myself in the living room.
As most of you know, my hubby is off on holidays for quite awhile and he wants me to be with him most of the time.
So I brought up the supplies I needed to catch up on my Project 365, so I can work on it and still spend time with him.

I needed to use his IPad to read my blog, as this is how I keep track of my days. I also need my computer to get my photos off of it. And all the other goodies that go with scrap booking.
Funny thing is this doesn't seem to look as bad as in real life...but then again you are only seeing half of the couch, lol.
I am now up to December. I am finding by doing this I have come across some things that I had totally forgotten happened, until I read them. I am so happy that I didn't listen to those nay sayer's (Sharon and Kristy) and plunged through and am finishing it off.

Onto My Day:
Hubby drove Kristy to school, so I could get an early start on my Project.
But I had technical difficulties. So when he came home he thought he fixed it by hooking up my laptop to the photo printer. It did work, but it wouldn't print the smaller size that I have been using.
Then later in the day I tried something and got it to work. I swear I saw fireworks I was so elated.

My friend Debbie dropped by for a short visit. A way to short of a visit.
But she was working and just happen to be on this side of town. Don't worry Deb we won't tell you skipped out for 10 minutes ;)

Kristy's friends came by as they needed to do a school project. It was funny as they would be so quiet (surprising I know) and then laugh so hard, I thought someone was going to wet their pants, lol. I love the sound of their laughter.

Oh and for all of you who had asked me what page protectors I am using for my P365. I have no idea, they came with this photo album.
Here is the video I did of my Project when I first started. It is not a kit, I did it from scratch with some of my old papers.

Are you Tired of my Project yet?

I am still working like a bat out of hell on my Project 365 for 2011.
I again did have trouble printing up my photos. I think anything to do with technology hates me....it really does.
I would have a photo on my jump drive, but neither of the photo printers would read it.
The only thing I have come up with is, I can't get photos off of face book, even though I did grab some from Wayne's page and it worked.
So I have NO idea.
But with all those problems aside, I am at the month of October.

I have to still make my Month title pockets, but I will do them at the same time as I am going to use my cricut to cut the letters.
I like this page because everything is nice and neat.
The pictures are the same size and so are the journaling spots.

Onto My Day:
Wayne drove Kristy to school so I could work on my P365.
Yup, I pretty much sat on my butt all day catching up on my P365, and listening to Wayne's video game.
Oh, I also made a reservation for a cabin that my friend, Deb and I are going to in February. We usually go in August. But she said she needed a creative get away.
She didn't have to ask me twice.
I just had to make sure this was an extra creative getaway. There was no way I wanted to give up the one we go on in the Summer.
We all know I am more of a summer person, then a winter person.
Ohhhhh creating all day in your jammies....now that sounds like heaven to me :)

P365 back on track

I don't know what has been happening to blogger lately but it is having some troubles. Then I get on here to post and it has all changed around. I don't like change, especially if it has to do with technical stuff.

I have been working like a mad woman on my Project 365 all day today.
Hubby and I went out early this morning and picked up some more ink and paper for my printer.
So that is what I have been doing all day. I am now at the end of August.
I will complete it by the end of the week... I sure hope I didn't jinx myself.

Everyone was asking about my new printer.
Here it is. It is a Canon Selphy CP800.
My hubby picked it out, as he does with all my computer gadget things.
I really like it. What that really means is that it is easy enough for me to use ;)

I have been using my SIL's Epson Picture Mate that she purchased many years ago. Actually we can't even get the refills in town anymore, I get them for her when we go to the States.
I will give you the pros and cons about my new photo printer.
Now for the record I can only compare it to my SIL's.
Pros:
1. It is tiny enough for me to take wherever I want. You know I do a lot of my scrap booking at our camp so this is perfect for that.
2. It seems to read my jump drive better then the Canon. Sometimes the other one doesn't read all of my photos.
3. It does so many different sizes of photos. They all have to fit on the standard 4x6 sheet of photo paper.
4. The images are crisp and clear.
Cons:
1. You have to use their special paper. Which is longer at either end. It is perforated and you just tear it off. But this means that you can't use any extra photo paper.
2. You only get how many prints that you have paper. The Epson's ink cartridge went way further than the paper that came with it. So you could just buy more paper and use the ink until it ran out.
Just thought I would share my opinion on my newest purchase. No I don't get anything for sharing this info. Just thought I would pass it along :)

Funny story:
Hubby made homemade soup and I threw some buns in the oven.
Ashley comes home to the table full of Beef Barely soup, perogies, salad and hot buns out of the oven.
Ashley takes a bun and says to me "Pillsbury"?
I look at her shocked. "No, I kneaded this dough with my own hands".
She smirks.
Then Kristy pipes in with "It would have been more believable mom if you had said I had made them".
Then Ashley says "I was thinking the same thing".
Wheres the love I ask, wheres the love, lol.

Project 365 comes to a dead stop

I am so frustrated.
I was going good on my Project 365. Worked on it all day and night last night.
Then worked on it all day and into the evening and then....the photo printer wouldn't read my jump drive!!
I was using my SIL's as I am more familiar with it. So I decided to use my photo printer, well it had one sheet of paper and no ink left. It only came with 5 sheets :(
So my project is on hold until I can get more ink or go to the photo lab and get them printed.

Today Wayne was playing some Zombie Killing game.
So I heard lots of gun fire, lots of zombie moaning and groaning.
I loved it, teehee.

So we figured we need these for when the Zombie Apocalypse does happen, lol.
These are actual bullets. We had a good laugh over these.

P365....still working on it

This is a short post as I have been working on my P365.....from last year.
I am still determined to finish last years.
I still want to do one for 2010.....Okay that may be pushing it.

I found this on Pinterest .
Every time we go on a trip and I see those machines that you put in a penny and a buck or two. Then the machine flattens your penny with a symbol of your choice on it.
Well anyway, I do have quite a few of these, as not only do I get one for me, I get one for my girls as well.
Not sure if I would actually wear this, but love the idea of using these in a new way besides puttting them in a scrapbook :)

Like I said I have been catching up on my P365 from last year...I am at the end of June.
It takes me a full day to do a month. But then again I have to wander around the house, and check out to see what every one else is up to.
Check the Internet, you know someone just might have a very important message for me, lol.
Hoping tomorrow I will get so much more completed.

Last night was scrap booking night.
When Sharon and I went to go and pick up (my hot chocolate, her coffee). I asked her if we were going to Tim Holtz or Robins Donuts, lol.
She just asked me did you say Tim Holtz?
Oops I meant Tim Hortons, lol.

First Layout of the Year

It should actually read "My 1st Layout IN a Year"
I know, how bad eh?
I haven't done a layout in one whole year.
But I love how this one turned out.
It took me all evening to do, and I even worked off a layout I had seen in a magazine.
I don't know which magazine, as I cut them up and put them in a note books over the years.

I used white card stock and stamped the swirls in red and the sentiment in black.
Inked the edges of everything...but I am sure you already knew that, lol.
The orb above the girls heads are from my chicken light above my desk, its not in the actual photo.
Those photo corners are velour :) My SIL Sharon bought me a kit that had them included.

These strips of paper I cut to varying widths and inked them with black ink.
I really wish the photos turned out better as it looks so much better in person.
So happy with how it turned out.

This was so new to me as I always scrapbook double page layouts.
I am going to have a matching page to this one though.
I was going to do our Christmas photo shoot, but all the photos look a bit yellowy.
Funny as hubby used his big boy camera and the photo in this layout was taken with my tiny point a shoot camera :)
See you don't need a big expensive camera to play with the big boys, lol.

Onto My Day:
Went to see my Cardiologist today.
I have a 40% injection fraction to the left part of my heart.....I had 30% back in 2004, so that is an improvement anyway :)
Iron is non-existent...that's nothing new, lol.
I was so nervous to see him, but now I feel so relieved that I did.

Hubby and I did some errands.
Then we went to Boston Pizza for lunch. We had some coupons for a free lunch.
So Wayne got a personal pizza and I got Chicken Alfredo.
Funny thing was the coupons were for us to have a free lunch each, but we still had to pay $11.00 for our pops and my meal was a bit more then the average lunch meal.
LOL, I guess its true, nothing if life is free ;)
Sharon came by for scrapbooking tonight :)

Yup this sentiment says it all...
I have to send Many Thank You cards out.
This card came together surprisingly quick. Nothing I make comes out quickly, lol.
This stamp is from the $1.50 bin. I bought it a while ago.
Used my distress ink to stamp it and lightly changed the colour of the paper with the same ink.
Backed it with some cardstock, cut with my Nesties.
Pattern paper to the base and called it a day.

Oh ya and I used this tape for a embellishment.
Not sure where I got this from..it may have even been from the dollar store?

Are you getting tired of me using recipe cards for the inside of my cards?
Ya, well to bad, lol. I love them, teehee.

I have been getting a lot of questions lately from young or newer women asking me questions about this craft we love so much.
Hubby calls me the Ann Landers of the crafting world, lol.
I love to answer their questions...even though I don't know all the answers.
But the question I get the most is how expensive this craft is.
But honestly it doesn't have to be. Plus most of the ones they are watching have been crafting for years, they have built up their supplies.

I have always created. But when I started scrapbooking (in the way it is know today), I had a plastic template I bought when I was in public school. I made the rest myself with what ever I could find.
Trace shapes by using dishes or against the window....free.
Use what you have, reuse mailings that come in the mail...free.
Use envelopes that you get at the bank....free.
Use pop tabs, milk tabs....free
Cut out your Christmas cards you received from Christmas....free
Left over wrapping paper./..free.
Colour string with markers.
These are just ones that I came up with in a mere few seconds.
Sure it can be expensive, but it doesn't have to be.
We don't need all the latest and greatest of supplies...in 5 or 10 yrs no one is going to know what was "in" at the time. Nor will they care.
Just do what you love.

Guess what I did?
Made another book mark.
I am on a mission to find the perfect book mark that suits Heathers specific needs, lol.
I think I did it :)

I used the graphic 45 paper.
Cut a piece at 9"x 1.5" and scored it in the middle.
Added very thin magnets on the ends and voila......time to embellish.

Then you sandwich the page in between the pattern paper with the magnets.
The embellishments that I added where just papers that I cut out and glued flat...remember to keep it as flat as possible, no matter how much you want to add flowers to it ;)

Here is where I got the idea for this book mark.
Lynne and I went to the Heart & Stroke foundation to pick up our tickets for the Scrap for Heart Crop.
I asked for some information and she gave us all kinds of brochures and these cool book marks (shown below).
When I saw them I got excited and told them, I can make these.
The lady said...why would you make them you can take as many as you want.
Lynne and I looked at each other then turned to her and said...We are scrapbookers that's why, lol.

Onto My Day:
Drove Kristy to school.
Took a shower. I still like my hair, you know how sometimes you don't like it as much the next day ;) Lynne and I went to pick up our tickets and our friends tickets.
Washed laundry....lots of laundry.
I was so tired I was almost walking into walls, so went into Kristy's bed for a nap as my sheets to my bed were in the wash :)
Then Kristy texted me as I was almost asleep. Then she did it again.
Then Ashley came home a bit early for lunch.
Finally when I did get to sleep, I was down and out for the count for about an hour and a half.
I had a crappy sleep last night..my stomach hurt and hubby snored, so I think I only slept for a couple of hours at a time.
Hubby didn't cook supper, so I ran to Subway to pick up supper....its the healthiest of the take outs :)

Off to bed soon, as even though I had a massive nap today, I could hit the hay at any moment.

An envelope? And a Pity party

I was planning to make one of these for my daughter Heather....do you know what it is?

I embossed the outline of the image and coloured it in with my Copics.

It is a book mark...a corner book mark to be exact.
I have been thinking of a way to make a book mark for my daughter Heather.
She is very particular in how she picks out her books and how she handles them.
I don't know how she does it, but after she has finished reading a book you can't even tell she had read it.
She has scolded me a few times for using the wrong type of book mark or putting it deep into the book to close to the spine.....yup she is worse then me, lol.

So I checked YouTube and found some cool origami style ones.
But I thought they would be to bulky for Heather's taste.
So I made this out of an envelope, yup you guessed it, the same ones you get in the mail to mail your payments in.
I was all pleased with myself, only for her to tell me its still to thick.
So she will continue to use the ghost cut out that I had laminated.
I will save this one for me....but not when I borrow one of her books ;)

LOL, I just read this book page, maybe I should have picked a different page, lol.
It is from the last book in the series of the Hunger Games....it really is a great series.

If you were here for the crafts you may want to skip this next part and ignore the rest of this post.
I have been feeling not myself for a couple of years.
Some say its from my dads passing, but I really don't think so.
For one thing some of my health issues are in full force and it is getting me angry.

I am not one to roll over and take it as it comes, I am one to put on the gloves and go in fighting.
But right now, I am feeling fightless. Tomorrow may be a different day.
So I thought I will change the things that I can.
So today Heather and I went for a hair cut. I haven't cut my hair in 2 years......hey, maybe that was my problem, lol.
I got about 8.5 inches cut off my hair and also some bangs.
Of course when I woke up this morning I had a great hair day, lol.
My new cut ;)

I am planning on getting some new clothes that are comfy, yet stylish.
And lastly I am starting my walking again, eating healthier and quitting my Coca-cola.
I know these things are not going to cure me, but hopefully it will help with my funked-up state of mind and body.
One thing I am happy about....my cardiologist is back to practicing. He is only taking a limited amount of patients and is taking it slow. I have a appointment with him this Friday.
So I had the joy of sitting, waiting (for over an hour) to get my blood work done this morning. Of course I forgot to bring a book to read.

Bunny Book Mark

I made this quick book mark for a very nice lady.
Just before Christmas I unexpectedly received a book mark from Cathy, 55Catty :)
Wasn't that so sweet of her.
So I decided to make her one.

I had this sticker and thought it was perfect for a book mark :)
Then I added a charm to the chenille fiber.

I coloured this little cutie.

On the back of the book mark I added (you guessed it) a recipe card, I thought she could record the books she had read or books she wants to read.

Onto My Day:
Mailed some parcels.
Picked up Kristy's ring. I made Wayne park at the far end of the mall, so I could get in a little walk to pick up Kristy's ring on the other side. Ya, Wayne waited for me in the jeep....slacker.
Then came home and spent most of the day looking for a book. I was really getting frustrated as I had just seen it.
I finally did find it. But I really do need to have a place for everything and put it in its place when I am done ;)
Oh ya, I spent the rest of my day looking through Pinterest...thank you Ashley, teehee.

Pinterest...I caved

My daughter talked me into opening Pinterest account.

I have been toying with the idea of opening an account, but I already spend to much time on the Internet.
I love to check out every ones boards.
But never wanted to start one up as it was just something else for me to organize, lol.
I do love to organize though.

I do check the pages like I said, and love seeing what everyone is creating and I enjoy reading the quotes and laughing at the funny ones.
So I took the plunge and started my own.

Onto My Day:
Wayne woke up early and made pancakes for the family breakfast.
Lazed around most of the day....I didn't even do any colouring today :(
I did do a tad of crafting though :)
Girls ran to Subway and picked us up some supper....its the healthier take out :)

One image closer to getting some new stamps ;)
I have so many "Thank You" cards to make and this image is perfect. It had the sentiment with the image.
This is a deep purple colour, but its not showing up as deep on the photo.
I coloured the image with Copics.

I was planning on doing more colouring today (actually I was planning on doing a lot of crafty things today) but I couldn't find my Memento ink.
But I finally found it tonight.
I was in a rush to clean up my scrap/craft room last night when Sharon was coming over, so I put it in a basket and put it else where. Isn't it frustrating when you can't find what you are looking for.

Onto My Day:
Ashley and I went out this afternoon.
We had to return a gift that didn't work how she thought it would.
When we were in the store the clerk was showing a new nail polish. You applied it, then the cap of the bottle has a magnet in it. So you would hold the cap above your nail for 5 seconds and then the polish would seperate and it looked like stripes. It was so cool.

Blake and Tyler were over for supper tonight. I made supper tonight ;)
I took down the tree and I think I put away all the decorations. I always find something I forgot to put away :)

Onto My Day:
Ashley was working today, but we all met at Canadian Tire and had a hot dog, lol.
Went to the vendor then ate in the jeeps. Ashley, Heather and Kristy in one, Wayne and I in the other...so romantic, lol.
Then Wayne and I bought matching new helmets. His old helmet is from 1980 and he did get in an accident while wearing it when he was in his teens. He should have bought a new one years ago.

Went to the mall and did some returns of some Christmas gifts that were flawed.
Then we all (except Ashley as she had to go back to work) went grocery shopping.
I love Wayne being off, as he likes to cook ;) Plus Kristy cleaned, bigger bonus :)

Tonight was Scrapbooking Friday Night.
Funny thing was I forgot until Wayne asked who was all coming tonight, lol.
I had such plans to do a 2 page layout on our failed family Christmas photo shoot, but didn't get the photos developed.

I added some sparkle to the little fairy's wings :)
I added glue with the glue pen and added powdered glitter. Turned out lovely, but it sure makes a mess.

Isn't she a little cutie :)

I came up with the top sentiment on my own.
I thought it was fitting not only with the image on the card, but my sister is happily divorced, lol.

Onto My Day:
I was pathetic today....I didn't even get dressed. Seriously.
First I slept in, I mean really slept in.
Then everyone was taking showers, so I thought I would do my book work while I waited for the shower to be free. I guess I really got into my work, because before I knew it, it was like 4:00. So what the heck I wasn't going anywhere anyway, so I just stayed in my robe all day.
Funny thing, Ashley boyfriend came over. I hid but then had to go downstairs to get some papers and who do I run into Tyler....so much for be sneaky, lol.

So I have completed my book work for the month, yeah, I balanced :)
But next....Year end.

Thankful Thursday:
I finished month end :)
Making a card.
I got to colour again :)
Another stamp inked up...one step closer to purchasing some more cute ones, teehee.

Cake anyone?

I made a card today for my niece's Birthday :)
As always, I coloured the image first.
Then grabbed some really pretty dark blue paper with sparkly flowers on it.
Then I stamped some balloons and added sparkle embossing powder and inked it blue.

Oh you say, there isn't any blue paper or sparkly balloons on here.
That's right...I scrapped that idea and started new, lol.
I thought this paper was more fun then the other paper.
I found this sentiment that I had cut off of an envelope.

I never understood this saying. "Have your cake and eat it too". Anyone can have their cake and then eat it...but can you "Eat your cake and have it too". Now that would be the ultimate gift. No matter how much of your cake you ate, you still have more ;)

Oops got off topic, I was talking about the card wasn't I? Cake does that to me, teehee.

Onto My Day:

Kristy and I ran to pick up some of my work, and then went to the grocery store.

As we were gone Wayne plowed the driveway. Its easier for him to do when the driveway has no vehicles in it.

Kristy wanted to go and get her ring checked out. Good thing she did as the stone is loose.

I asked about my wedding ring as part of it is broken. But I hate to leave it there. I told you I was very sentimental. My ring is still on my finger.

Hubby and I made supper together.

Then I said to him, that he could cook and I would clean up after him.

He asked me if I liked to wash dishes.

Nope, but I rather wash the dishes then cook, lol.

I think he used almost every pot I had.

We spent most of our day..me doing my book work, as I watched Band of Brothers with Wayne.

He watches this at least twice while he is off work. Which means "I" watch it at least twice when he is off.

If you remember, last year Wayne bought a TV to put in the living room to play video games on.

Today Kristy asked him to put it out. I think she wants to try her hand at his war games :)

Nothing like Father-Daughter bonding, teehee.

Oh Ya, I broke the closet door while getting out the recycles.

Everyone has to jam them in there. Not sure why my family has a fear of taking out the bag before it overflows?

So I got a little heated while reefing the bag out of there, oops.

Today was banking day.
I bought Canadian Savings Bonds for the girls 10 yrs ago.
Today was the day to cash them in. For a $100.00 savings bond I got back $129.99.
At first the teller was impressed until she realized I had it for 10 years not 1 year, lol.
Worked again today.

Spent most of my day working.

Wayne made a taco dip and we watched (you guessed it) zombie movies while we munched on our treat and I did my book work.

I love my blog, it is an extension of myself. Is that odd?

I slept in real late. I love to stay up late, and sleep in :)
I was hoping to work on my Project 365 from last year, but didn't seem to get to it today.
Today was a lounging day. We didn't do too much.

Good Bye 2011....Hello 2012

My Resolutions for 2011 were:

Scrap booking:

Do a double page layout once a month..... Epic Fail, I did 1 double page layout this whole year.

Try my hand at some sketches...... Fail, I think I may have done 1

Try some challenges....... Yeah...I did and complete my He-Art journal :)

Finish my Camp/cottage journal........ Fail I think I am still a year behind

Make more mini albums, even if they don't have a purpose...i love those..... Yeah...I really surpassed this goal.

Other Crafts:

Make my Christmas quilt that I bought for this year...Oops totally forgot about this one.

Sew my purses that I bought patterns for..... I think I did this one, can't remember which pattern it was, lol.

Continue to enjoy my paper crafts..... Well this was a no brainer, teehee.

Make the projects that I wanted to make last year...... I did this :)

Tweak my blog and YouTube channel...... Still to scared to touch anything on here in fear of erasing my blog ;)

Life Goals:

Get more active, I need this for my health, not an option.... Embarrassed to say, I didn't do to good in this area.

Loose 10 lbs these.... Did I say loose, oops

I would love to end the soda but not doable...so cut down........this one was a big fail as well.

Eat more healthy...Can't say that I succeeded in this area either :(

Be creative everyday. This does not mean making a project everyday, but being creative in one way or the other....I did this one :)

Put myself first. This is going to be the hardest of all. I put my family and friends first....Yup failed yet again.

Now I feel like a failure, lol.
For this year I want to work on the goals I had last year.
But my big thing is to stop my Procrastination.
I am so bad for this. I have always said that I am the best procrastinator. If there was a prize for this, I would win it hands down.
But this year I am really going to work on "Just do it", and do it now.

Had my SIL, Sharon, her hubby Jim, and Kristy's boyfriend Blake over for dinner and enjoyed some laughs.
When the clock stuck midnight, I opened the front and back door of our home to let the old year out and to welcome the new year in.
So here is to 2012!
Looking forward to the great experiences, and new friends that this New Year will bring to my life.

Quading in the snow and an evening with friends.

Today was a fun, busy day.

First Wayne woke up early to pick up our new quad :)
Then we went to camp, where I had a blast driving our Quad as Wayne plowed the roads.
I have never driven my quad in the snow before, it was fun. But I couldn't go as far with all the snow banks...thanks Wayne.
For all you worried about me doing something silly on it and hurting myself. I have been driving dirt bikes since I was about 13 yrs old and know how to be safe. So no worries :)
I was surprised to see that we didn't get much snow up at camp.
I am wearing Wayne's helmet. It is to be used only in the summer as the cold air comes in the mouth vents.
I had to get a mouth warmer to keep my face from freezing.

When we got home we had to hurry up and get ready to leave again as my girlfriend Debbie invited us over for supper :)
We had such a nice evening.
Debbie and I checked out her stamps and looked at cards on the Internet.
We also planned our next girls get away :)
I love our get aways. We hike and create the whole time. And in the evening we soak in the hot tub under the stars. Ohhhhh I so wish it was summer.
Wayne and her husband Gerry talked about fishing, hunting, guns. Not my choice of topics.
I think Debbie and I were much more interesting then the men were, lol.

WEEK 23 - A Letter to Myself

Assignment: Create a spread or a page that is dedicated to you. It may be a note to yourself, a summary of your accomplishments this year, etc.

I cannot believe this is the last day of the challenge. Thank you Becky and Steph for encouraging me to play along with you guys....even though you both bailed on me, lol. Just kidding, not.

Here are my pages for this weeks challenge.

I took this challenge to write a note to myself at different stages of my life.

One thing with doing this challenge is I seem to do my journaling at night.
For some reason at night my mind seems to be more free or truthful.
Then I read what I wrote in the morning and think...is that a bit to personal?
Some times I change some wording and other times not.

I inked the background with distress ink.
Then stamped some stamps that I really like.
Did the journal blocks with recipe cards (no surprises there :)
Then inked them in other distress colours.

Onto My Day:
Wayne and I were going to go to camp to bring the quad up.
But it snowed all night and all day. It is about a 2 hour drive and all highway driving, so we decided to wait until tomorrow. I'm bringing my ski pants, cause I'm going quading, teehee.
Never drove in the snow before. It is sure to be fun :)

Went to Future's to exchange some gifts.
Went to get some groceries.
Ashley and Kristy went shopping (Ashley bought a nice coat). Then Ashley brought Kristy to her boyfriends house.
Ashley went to her boyfriends uncles house for supper.
Heather played video games and watched some of her seasons she got for Christmas. She was happy to get all television all to herself all day.

I am still plugging away on my Project 365...I am on the month of May now.
And you thought you were behind Katie, teehee.

Transformer???

Look what Hubby and I bought ourselves :)

We were planning on waiting until closer to the summer, but the price was real good.

This was cheaper then what our BIL paid for his, 12 yrs ago.

Nothing is ever gets cheaper in price!?!

Doesn't it look like a transformer :)

Wayne wanted the yellow one, as it looked like bumble bee. Plus his motorcross bike was yellow and black.

But they only had the red one in stock....my favourite colour :)

We have one up at camp already (its about 12 yrs old). And it is also red. I love to drive it :)

When Wayne and I go out, he drives and I am on the back (our other one has a back seat). So if there is ever a problem we have a long hike back for help.

Actually I was the one who suggested we get another one. Surprised eh...since I am the thirfty one in the family ;)

Onto My Day:

I stayed in all day :)

I worked on my Project 365. I am embarrased to say how far back I am. Put it this way, I will not be caught up before the New Year :(

Kristy said I should just scrap it and start from where I ended for the New Year.

I told her I should write Epic Fail on the last page.

She said I could put each letter in a pocket, lol.

But I need to finish it...It is just something I have to do.

Hubby and I watched Trapped, while the girls played their new video games that they got for Christmas.

Ashley is out with Tyler tonight and probably watching the hockey game...if she likes it or not, lol.

Is there such a thing as Giving to much?

I know Christmas is about giving.
Giving to the ones you love,
Giving to the less fortunate,
Giving of yourself and and of your time.

I have been asked to share what I received for Christmas.
So here are a few of my gifts my family gave to me.
I really loved this print.
So Ashley, Heather and Kristy ordered it and put it in a frame.
It is just so inspiring to me to make your life what you want it to be.

My hubby takes the "Giving" of the season to a whole new level.
I had no idea what I wanted for a gift this year as I have everything and more in my life.
So when he doesn't know what to get me, he always goes to jewelery.
I have a special meaning to all my jewelery and always wear the same ones.
But I guess he figured I needed some special earrings.
For those that know anything about diamonds ( which I honestly don't) these are 1/2 crt each.
Honestly if they were cut glass I wouldn't know the difference.

He also bought me this pretty gold chain.

So did you get something special for Christmas?

Because everyone in my family is off work until the New Year, we are still in holiday mode.
We have been watching our favourite Christmas movies. But I needed a bit of a zombie fix.
So hubby and I are watching 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. I know technically not a zombie movie.
Not very festive, lol.

I was surprised the other day when I was chatting with one of my American friends about our plans for Boxing day. She had never heard of this holiday.So I thought maybe a few of you may not know what it is either.
So I looked up the proper definition of the day and thought I would share it with you all.

Oh this photo has nothing to do with boxing day. Its just that Oscar De la Hoya is such a cutie and he is wearing boxing gloves and my kids thought boxing day had something to do with boxing when they were little ;)

Boxing Day is traditionally a day following Christmas when wealthy people in the United Kingdom would give a box containing a gift to their servants.^[1] Today, Boxing Day is better known as a bank or public holiday that occurs on December 26, or the first or second weekday after Christmas Day, depending on national or regional laws. I am one of the few that do not hit the stores.
Mind you I remembered my local scrapbooking store was having a sale today :)
They are usually closed on Mondays.
So I checked her email she sent me and the store was open from 10:00- 3:00....that was at 3:05, lol.
Guess I wasn't meant to shopping after all.

I did get a visit from my friend Debbie and her hubby Gerry :)
Then we went to my SIL, Sharon's house for an awesome turkey dinner with all the fixins :)
My daughters call her the "Hostess with the Mostess" as she not only prepares a delishious meal, but all put out, all kinds of goodies :)

Merry Christmas...not your traditional dinner

MERRY CHRISTMAS
We woke up at about 7:30am. Well actually Kristy woke us up.
For the last few years, Wayne and I have had to wake up the girls.
I think, no I know, we spoiled our girls this year.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

I received a phone call from my SIL late last night that she was cancelling her Christmas dinner.
We go to her house for Christmas dinner every year. I have Thanksgiving she has Christmas.
It is usually my family of 5 and my sister with her 2 kids...so not a big group.

I still wanted to see my sister and her 2 kids so I told them to come here.
The problem was I didn't get any groceries.
We have Christmas eve dinner at my Father In Laws house.
Christmas dinner at my brothers.
And boxing day dinner at Sharon's my other SIL.
So I knew I didn't need to cook dinners for the next 3 days.
And everything was closed today.
I even tried to order Chinese food, but everything is closed.

I told my sister even if we have grilled cheese sandwiches we are going to be together for Christmas, LOL.
Well we didn't have grilled cheese sandwiches. I made spaghetti, pasta sauce, garlic bread and some wild rice casserole I had left over from when I made it for dinner at my FIL's.

Christmas Jammies :)

Tonight is Christmas Eve :)
We went to my FIL's house for supper.
Everyone brings a dish, and we enjoy family and food :)
When my girls were young, we would stay late and they would crash on the couch
Hubby and I would come home and stay up until 3:00am wrapping gifts.
Tonight we were home by 10:00, and we were one of the last ones to leave.

We always buy Christmas jammies for the girls, and we let them open them up Christmas Eve. I am a real stickler for NOT opening gifts before Christmas.
But when hubby was growing up his family always opened gifts Christmas Eve.
So I had to compromise and this is what we came up with.
This year they found these jammies and I so love them.
I would have bought myself a pair, but there was only 3 sets left.

Heather, Ashley and Kristy.
My treasures :)

Our vacuum died last night.
So Hubby ran to Sears early in the morning to get a new one.
He saw a friend of ours there and she asked Wayne....."Your not buying that for Tracy for Christmas are you?"
A guy says to Wayne "If you are, it better be wrapped in a mink coat."
Wayne replies " No I am not getting her a vacuum for her Christmas present....I got her a chain saw."
I thought that was so funny :)
He bought a red vacuum...it made me smile :)

Music in my He-Art ... week 22

WEEK 22 - Music to my Heart
Assignment: Create a spread or a page that is based on music and your favorite tune/song. Not necessary to use any TGF stamps, this is YOUR journal, do what you want cuz you rule that journal!

Here is my Challenge pages for this week.

Only one week to go and that is the end of the challenge.

Because I don't have one favourite song or one favourite band I figured I would document some of my favourite artists.

I love all types of music.

I love that when you listen to a song, it can take you back in time, and fill your thoughts with memories.

I love that music has so much feeling. That you can listen to a song and cry when hearing the lyrics, or feel warmth in your heart, or just rock out to the beat.

Here is my first page.
The Police was what my hubby and I listened to when we would go for our drives when we were dating. Our song of choice was "Every Breath You Take".

Here is my second page.
I have to admit the closest I have to country music is Shania Twain. Not that I don't like country, just not my first choice of music.

When I was younger we would drive to Dryden as my dad worked there, it was a 4 hour drive.
The only music we had, besides the radio, was my mom's ABBA 8 track, lol.
Imagine my dads surprise when we begged him to put in his Luciano Pavarotti 8 track, lol.
I knew every ABBA song top to bottom, left to right.

Onto My Day:
Today was the last day of school for Kristy before the holidays.
Being the bad mom that I am, I let her stay home. I picked up her boyfriend so they could exchange gifts and spend the day together. They won't be seeing to much of each other due to the holidays. They are both great kids and take school seriously, so I figured what the hey.

I also picked up some toilet paper. If you are a reader of my blog you know we are always running low on this stuff. And I sure didn't want to run out during the holidays

Kristy, Ashley and Tyler did some baking tonight. They are planning on bringing some to their grandpa's house tomorrow.

Gift card holders and lord of his ring

Getting the last of the gifts wrapped and checking my list. Wouldn't want to miss anyone ;)
We have quite a few gift card that we are giving as gifts this year.
I am always on the look out for new, fun ways to send out gift cards.

Funny thing is I had this gift box kit for a few years and have been hoarding it, lol.
Well I have a few New Years Resolutions in the works and one of them is to use my supplies instead of hoarding them.....figured now is as good a time as any :)

Yesterday Hubby took the girls out to pick up a gift for me.
Besides my gifts he bought himself a new wedding ring.
We have been married for over 23 years and his band was getting thin. He wears it everyday all day.
He came home all proud that he bought himself his new band.
I on the other hand was so upset.
Not only was I going to buy him one for our anniversary, but thought "who buys them self their own wedding ring".
I had to go into my craft/scrap room have a little cry and pull myself together.

My girls knew I was upset and came down...even though I didn't want them to know how upset I was.
Then hubby came down after the girls gave him sh1t, lol.
He said he was sorry and gave me a hug and told me he didn't know I would get upset.
In his defense, when I lost one of my diamonds years ago he told me I had to buy the new one....which I did.
So when he told me that he needed a new ring, I told him he had to buy it.

I know men don't have the emotional attachment to jewelry as women do (or maybe its just me).
To them it is a piece of gold.
Here he thought he was doing something good, so I wouldn't have to buy a new one for him.
I am feeling a bit better about it today.

Be better Not bitter

I thought I would share something I found on Pinterest.
I love looking at this site.
I keep thinking I want to open a Pinterest account, but I spend enough time on the computer, I know I would be on here all day if I had one.
I know I would have so much fun organizing the categories and looking for ideas :)

Now onto my find.
I have a few people in my life that could benefit to this quote.
I don't believe anyone (well anyone I know of anyway ) has or had a perfect life....but I figure once you hit a certain age, its time to stop your whining and get on with making you life your own.

Onto My Day:
Hubby and I went and finished our Christmas shopping.
I have my baby nephew Matthew for the children's gift exchange. Ashley wanted to come with me to pick out an outfit for him.
We picked out 2 and couldn't decide which one we liked best....so I bought both of them, teehee.
I love to shop for the little ones :)
He is going to be one smart looking toddler ;)

A couple more Christmas Cards :)

Here are a couple other Christmas Cards I made this year.
I was running out of time, so these are the assembly style cards.
Pretty quick to do.

I just backed the Bingo tag with card stock, then backed my pattern paper with card stock, added a sentiment and was good to go :)
Well actually it took a tad longer then that to make them :)
I forgot to take a photo of the inside, but it is similar to the others.

Another thing I forgot to do was take photos of my other cards....and now that they are mailed away its to late :(

Short post for me today as tonight Wayne and I are watching a couple of Christmas movies (just finished watching Christmas Vacation) and I am hoping to finish the tea light candle holder/Christmas cards for the ladies Ashley works for...as she is out enjoying a wonderful dinner with her boyfriend. Can you see something wrong with this picture ?

I changed the measurements a bit on the ones I am doing.

Tea Light Card

Sharing a project today :)
Ashley wanted to make some real cool gifts for her female co-workers.
She saw them at Chapters....Check out her blog to see them .
But we couldn't find the right type of bubble bath. So she changed her plans.
She is still bummed about the bubble bath project though.

So onto her second choice.
With the help of her mom ;) (yes that would be me)
We (I) made this.
Actually I only made one to make sure that they worked. I will get to the others tomorrow.
They are tea light candle containers :)
Here is the front, with the recipients initial.

Here is the inside.
Everything is made with paper.
I saw this idea on a blog.
The measurements were in centimeters.... Yes us Canadians do follow the metric system, but I still haven't completely converted, lol.
I blame it on wood working, lol.

The pocket on the left holds a tag to write or stamp a sentiment on.
The bottom and the top of the tea light box both open up, so the ribbon is only there so they don't open during transport :)
If I added a piece of acetate on the open area, I could add candy in there or something else yummy :)

I still have to make 3 more for her.
I also want to make a Christmas one as well :)
Ashley didn't want hers to have a Christmas theme.

Onto My Day:
Wayne is on holidays for the rest of the year. So today we did some running around and went Christmas shopping.
I am hoping to get the rest competed tomorrow :)
Then we can veg. and I can made some extra gifts for Christmas. I seem to do this every year.
When I think I have extra time, I made something for someone ;)
Went out to mail some out of town parcels. There was only 2 people in front of us...nice.
Looking forward to getting everything completed tomorrow ;)

Becky's Christmas Ornament Mini Album

I thought I would share the mini album that Becky won for my appreciation give away.

Quick Card Assembly

Here are some of my assembly line Christmas Cards.
These stamped images are a set of 4 from Tim Holtz.
What I did was put them all on one large stamp block (I think it is a Fiskars placement block).
Inked and stamped them at the same time, then cut out the images and backed them with the burgundy card stock.

I made the card bases out of white card stock...all of them.
Then adhered the burgundy card stock down then the pattern paper.
Lastly adhered the image.
It still took a few hours, but I did make 16 of them :)

When I bought these stamps, I wanted to use a chocolate brown ink on Kraft card stock.
But I had to let my perfectionist in me go and worked with what I had.

I did use the Tim Holtz aged Mahogany distress ink to stamp these images.

Used a bit of sparkle on the card to break it up.
I am going to give these cards to our friends and family that throw the Christmas cards away after the holidays. I know of some friends and family members that save my cards...so they get the good ones, teehee.

Onto My Day:
I spent most of the day uploading video's to my YouTube channel.
I have a few more to do yet.
Either You Tube is uploading real slow, or our Internet is slow, because it seems to be taking a longer time then usual.

I Had a Card Making Marathon Today :)

I finished my Christmas Cards :)
I think this is one of my favourites.
Not only do I think this image is adorable (thanks Debbie ). But I love my colouring on this one and the pattern paper is perfect for this image. Wow did I just pat myself on the back, lol.
See I used my sparkle twine again :)

I stamped the snowflakes with my new Tim Holtz ink.

I had to do quite a few cards, assembly line style.
I like how they all turned out, its just that I had such high hopes for my cards this year.
But I ran out of time :(
I was hoping to colour more images.

He-Art Journal Challenge week 22..Love

Only a couple weeks left of the Challenge and then I don't know what I am going to do with my Thursdays.

WEEK 21 - I 'Heart'

I have been wanting to try my hand at doodling ever since this challenge began. So I thought I had better try it now as the challenges are coming to an end

I had so much fun playing with colours on this one.
I have my hubby and my daughters in the big hearts as they are my most loved. And then in the smaller hearts other things I love.
I wish I wouldn't have started this one so late, as I would have loved to do a lot more flowers
I bet next week the challenge will be to doodle, lol.

Then it was getting late, and needed to go to sleep, so the other page isn't as prettied up .

Onto My Day:
Had some business calls and worked most of the morning.
I sooo needed a nap.
Thought I woke up to the back door open and thought someone was in the house while I slept...funny thing is it was a dream. LOL

Wayne woke me up by ringing the door bell over and over again. He came into town to pick up parts and came home to see me and have lunch.
I sat with him as he ate and he said to me.....You really look really tired.
I was like in a state of zombieism...is that a word?
It took me an hour to really wake up :)

I made a few cards tonight.
Not nearly enough that I need to send out mind you.
I think I need about 30 cards and I have 13....I really don't think I can make17 tomorrow.
And I was making them assembly line style. Which I don't usually do.

Milk and Turtles now that sounds just about right

Today was a turtle day :)
Myra and I made 312 chocolate turtles.
Yes we could have just bought them, but honestly our turtles are so much better then the bought ones.
Plus we have been making these for about 17 yrs now.

Yes the milk is in a Coca-Cola glass.....told you I love my coke, lol.

Onto My Day:
Spent most of the day making these goodies and also some Pecan bark :)
Watched Survivor and working on my He-art Journal Challenge.

A beautiful Surprise and some Christmas cards

Well my day didn't go as planned....but then again it never does.
If you remember my plan, it was to have a Christmas Card making Marathon all day.
Sadly that didn't happen :(

But I did get a few cards completed :)
It takes me forever to make a card.
I had these images coloured already and used some pre-made card bases from Michael's from the cheapy bins.

I usually don't make cute cards for Christmas....but this one turned out cute (well at least I think so ).
I thought this paper was a fun one to use, especially since little reindeer here was stringing some lights :) This paper is probably at least 10 years old :0

Here is the inside of the card.
I got this idea to stamp the inside from Kim of Prairiepaperandink...another crafty Canadian girl :)
I embossed the sentiment.

Here is the inside of the second card.
I added sparkle to the lights and again embossed the sentiment.

Now this card was easy as I had this front done from last year, lol.
It may have been easy, but still not fast....what is wrong with me?
I embossed the angel in gold embossing powder.
Masked the moon off and inked the paper in blue.
I just had to add something, so I added the sparkle twine. I am loving this twine.

Look what I got in the mail today. It came in a huge box.
It didn't have a return address on the box, or a card inside it.
So after I admired this beautiful wreath, I checked the postage label.
It came from Whitehorse, Yukon.
I have a high school friend that lives there. I remember on Face book, we were going to do the hand made Pay It Forward that was going around on there. So I am thinking that is who made it.
I tried to contact her but haven't been able to yet.
Isn't it so pretty :) So sparkly.

Onto My Day:
I received a few business calls this morning, so I worked all morning.
At lunch I picked up Kristy and her boyfriend Blake. I needed Kristy to help me with a gift for her daddy :) Then I treated them for lunch.
Ashley came home for lunch. So as we chatted as I wrapped gifts.
I was in the swing of it, so I didn't stop until I was finished.
I didn't get to making cards until after supper.

Proud Tuesday:
Made a young girl happy with some goodies I sent her :)
Spending time with my daughters.
Completed wrapping the gifts that I have so far.
Made 3 cards, I guess I am proud of that ;)

I am really happy with how these pages turned out

I wanted to do something "pretty" as I have been doing a lot of projects in grungy or vintage and needed to do something different.
I used glimmer mists for the background paper.
I wanted them to look dreamy, and I think I accomplished that

I had used some of my older stamps...some never even touched an ink pad before, tsk, tsk.

I was thinking of doing one page about my nightmares and the second about my dreams.
But I thought everyone might be getting tired of my zombies, teehee.

Onto My Day:
My SIL, Sharon, Heather and I all went across the border. I had some packages to pick up...and...some to mail away. When we go over the border we always go for lunch :)
It was pretty nice out today and was able to kick the pumpkins free of our steps, teehee.

I also found out today that Marlene from Disgused as a GrownUp ( see yesterdays post on the card I made with her image) is retiring from the blogging world. I am so sad. I love Marlene! Her humour always puts a smile on my face....guess I will just have to stalk her by email ;)

I started wrapping Christmas gifts. Boy I got my daughters a lot of gifts ;)
I still need to work on my Christmas cards.
Tomorrow is going to be an all day Christmas Card Making Marathon :) Wish me luck.

I sent my daughters out to grocery shop while I was wrapping gifts. I think they made wise choices....I haven't checked.
Come to think of it, I haven't got my change back...I am sure they didn't buy $200.00 worth of groceries, lol.

Cutie Kid Christmas Card and teasing the girls....but whats new ;)

Here is card #4.
This image is Marlene's from Disguised as a Grownup.
I coloured the image with my Copics on Cryogen paper. It has a slight sparkle in the paper, so I thought it was fitting for a Christmas card :)

I know Marlene drew the image, but I kind of think of this one as mine ;)

The reason why is because Marlene was taking requests and I asked her to make one of her cutesy kids (she calls them her nerdy kids) into a Christmas theme.
So in all honesty she really did make it for me, teehee.

I used some puffy paint on the white parts of her hat. You can't really tell on these photos, but it really puffed up nicely :)

Onto My Day:
We put up our Christmas Tree today :)
I put it up and Kristy decorated it :)
Kristy was the only one who helped so when I hung up the stockings these are the ones I put out.
The huge one, that I could fit in, is Kristy's.
The next 2 are Wayne's and mine.
The last two, just big enough to fit a gift card, are Heather's and Ashley's. LOL
Oh ya and Rose's is on the corner ;)

Missing Walking Dead, but we are watching "Bag of Bones" tonight.
I read this book years ago, as I love Stephen King's writing. He has a way of sucking you into his stories and not putting them down until you are done :)

Snowman Soup Confusion

I thought I should clear up the "snowman soup" confusion.
It is not soup, but hot chocolate :)
So they could be considered one of the same...
They are both hot,
both taste delish
and both comforting ;)

This is how I put them together this year.
I give them to everyone who visits us during the holiday's :)
Plus I add them to the gifts I give.

Very easy to put together.
I put the powder of the hot chocolate mix in the disposable icing bag.
Then add some chocolate chips and mini marshmallows.
Tie it up with a ribbon and add a candy cane and the verse.

I didn't make one card today :(
I ended up doing a video on Becky's mini album that I made for my Appreciation Draw.
I will post it once she receives the mini album.
Chatted on the phone with a friend for a couple of hours :)
Reviewed my Christmas list :)
Put together the parcels I want to mail out on Monday.

Colouring fun on my Friday Scrapbooking Night

I coloured some more images, and am hoping to make some Christmas cards tomorrow :)
I borrowed this stamp from Debbie :)
Isn't she adorable.
You can't tell, but I added some sparkle to her ear muffs and skate blades with my Spica pen.

I should have taken a photo of one of the reindeer that didn't have a stamp smudge :(
No worries it will be hidden when I make the card :)
Again I used the Spica pen for some sparkle on the bulbs :)

Thought I would share the colours I used on the reindeer.
Deer-E35, E39. Antlers-E33, E35. Hooves-N1, N6. Reds-R37, R39. Blues-B60, B97.Green-YG63, YG93. Orange-YR04, YR07.
Yup I only used 2 colours of each colour combo. The image was pretty tiny, so no need to use more than that.

Onto My Day:
Drove all over town this morning looking for disposable icing bags.
Went to the Bulk Food store (where I always have bought them from), nope they don't carry them anymore.
Michael's wanted $29.99 for a box of 100, nope I don't think so.
Thought I would check out the dollar store, nope they don't carry them.
I even went to the Persian Man (a local pastry shop). Nope.
Only to find out when Ashley came home for lunch, that she had some.
So made snowman soup for friends and family that come and visit us during the holidays :)

Kristy went to her friends house to exchange gifts with them :)
She wanted to bring the snowman soup for them.

Today we had to to the accountant.
Then out for our yearly company dinner :)
We went to The Keg.
I think everyone ordered steak and lobster but me. I ordered chicken and ribs,with some shrimp, sooo yummy :)
Came home just in time for Friday night Scrap booking.

Card #3 and a text meal

Woohoo card #3
I coloured her up with my Stampin' Up markers.
Added gloss to the ornament she is holding.
I had made a ribbon and bow out of paper and put it on the package but took it off.
Wayne asked me what she was sitting on? He said it looked obscene :0
And after he said that. I couldn't look at this little elf girl the same way again, lol.

I text Wayne asking him what he wanted for dinner tonight.
He answered the same way he always does..."Food".
So I said he can't complain with whatever I make then.
So here are the texts he then sent me.
"Real pasgetti & meatballs (real). Hunts thick & rich sauce"
Next text read
"Nice Italian bread"
"And dirt cake for dessert"
"A nice red wine slightly chilled"
"Cloth napkins"
"And fine china and silverware"
"Candles"

Funny thing is neither one of us drink wine, lol.
So I altered his request a bit.
Spaghetti, frozen meatballs (cooked of course), served on our wedding china, and slightly chilled Coke for me and diet Pepsi for him.
And for dessert I bought a cake from Safeway and some ice-cream.
He was very surprised.
We enjoyed our dinner in the dinning room and the girls ate in the kitchen.
Look at the portion sizes, lol. Can you guess who's is who's.

Thankful Thursday
Having a meal with my hubby.
A warm home (cause baby its cold out there)
Hubby and Ashley going shopping, just the two of them :)
Getting my He-art Journal Challenge pages complete, but forgot to post them on here....tomorrow.
Chatting with my girlfriend for a bit tonight :)

Christmas Decor ?

So for all you out there that think I am soooooo organized, I just had to share this with you.
My pumpkins are still on the front step, lol
The real funny thing is, They are frozen to the concrete.
I kicked the sh1t out of them and still they will not move.

My next move is to get some hot water to melt them off.
Then I have to salt the stepss so the mailman (yes we have a mail Man) doesn't slip on the ice that the hot water will make once it freezes.
See the dilemmas I have in my life, lol.

Hey I could put a tiny pine tree in this one and call it Christmas decor.
What do you think?

Onto My Day:
I spent quite a bit of the day doing book work.
I am cleaning everything up so hopefully my year end will go smoothly next month.
Ashley and I went out shopping on her lunch break.
The sneaky snake ate something at work before I picked her up.
I wondered why she kept putting off eating...as I was starving.
So I picked up something for Heather and I ;)

Isn't this image so cute. It is one that I bought at that scrap sale on our trip :)
Not sure if I am 100% happy with this card, but its done.

Yup, just for you Becky, the money shot, lol.
I picked up this twine in Aug and am just using it now. Love the sparkle to it :)

I put an OTT light bulb in my chicken light (over head light that they use for chicks when they hatch....nothing but the best for me, teehee). I think the colours on my photos and projects are better, they don't seem to have a yellowish tinge to them.
Mind you $12.99 for one light bulb is a bit pricey...and that is with a 50% off coupon!!

My day was perfect.
Comfy clothes and I got to spend most of my time in my scrap/craft room :)
How can it get any better then that...oh I know chocolate....Ohhh yeah I had some of that today as well. See a perfect day :)

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend.
I mentioned yesterday that I had a surprise to share with you.
Well here it is :)

I worked all day, but I did finish up my book work and balanced month end :)
The whole family kind of vegged today.
Spend all of the day watching television and stayed warm in the house :)

I have to say I am very sad today. No Walking Dead on tonight. I have to wait until Feb. for the new ones to start :(

1st Christmas Card of the year

Like I had mentioned in some of my previous posts, I try to keep things Christmas-free until December ;)
Well here you go, my 1st Christmas card :)
Funny thing is, I made this card back in August when my girlfriend, Debbie and I went for our girls getaway. Man that was a fun few days :)

You know I didn't really like this paper until Debbie made a card with it. Funny how that happens eh?
The image was coloured in my Sharpie markers. I had coloured this image before I had Copics or my Stammpin" Up markers. And I have to say I do like it :)
I added the "Do not Open" as a tag.

Onto My Day:
I worked most of the day.
Wayne and I did have a short visit with his brother as he is putting a sauna in his basement. Wayne would love one as well I am sure....but he will just have to wait until summer to have one at camp :)

We saw a bit of the Parade of Lights. It is when local business' deck out their big trucks and trailers with lights and cruise the strip....what we call the strip here anyway.
Their trucks are just covered in them. There was also fire trucks and buses. They blew their horns and some sounded like they had musical horns as well.
There was a city bus that was so covered you couldn't even see the outside of it, and it had a huge red lit up crown on the top of it. Now that was cool.

So we have been watching Body of Proof and I have been doing my book work.
When did my kids become my parents?
Kristy was going to her boyfriends house. So I whispered to Wayne, "Kristy won't be here, so lets get some munchies and watch TV".
Kristy comes rushing into the living room. "What was that, what did you say!"
She is making hubby and I eat better if we like it or not.
I seriously felt like I was a kid getting in trouble, lol.
Got to love her though ;)

So much Yumminess

Look what I found today :)
My Favourite Scrapbooking magazine :)

I worked all day again today.
My SIL, Val, had to come by and drop off some book work for me. She also brought some yummy cinnamon buns she made. Val is an awesome cook. My girls and I have often thought she should have had her own catering business. She always comes up with great appetisers.

Tonight was scrap booking night.
I need to get some of my Christmas cards done.
I usually make everyone a completely different card. I even go into detail on who should get which card. Yes I put a lot of thought into them :) my SIL, Sharon, thinks I put to much thought into them ;)
Well time is running short, so I stamped the same image and coloured them tonight.
I switched some of the colours though ;)
This photo has a yellowish tinge to it doesn't it.

I was going to share a Christmas card that I made back in August (I have 2 so far ;) But I guess I didn't transfer my "Cards" file to this new laptop. I swear I did, but nope.

He-Art Journal Challenge week 19 and a Thankful Thursday

WEEK 19 - Chaos.
Yup another week of the Greeting Farms He-Art Journal Challenge.

Assignment: Create a spread or a page that is out of control! Neatness not allowed. LOL. Actually there is such a thing as 'controlled' chaos. :) Feel free to mess it up and mix it up. Not necessary to use any TGF stamps, this is YOUR journal, do what you want cuz you rule that journal!

I was worried about this one, as I have trouble with chaos. I like my pages to be neat and symmetrical.
So when I re-read the challenge I saw "Controlled Chaos", now that, I think I could do.
Then I thought of those "Eye Spy" books, where you have to find the hidden objects. Bingo :)
What I did was grab some scrap papers and some images that I had stamped for other projects that just didn't make the cut at the time.

I started with the larger pieces and then filled in the spaces with the smaller ones.
I even used some scraps of paper that I tried some shimmer sprays on.

The tape measure around the edge is from a large paper tape measure from a furniture store. I cut it down and used alcohol inks to colour it up. It had a glossy surface so distress inks wouldn't work, that is why I used the alcohol inks.

Onto My Day:
I worked all day, even though I was on the phone for almost 4 hours with my blogging friend :)
I know it is December 1st, but when I work I am always billing for the last month, so I am still in November. Once I am finished with month end, I have to get back to reality and get my butt moving with the holiday preparations.

Thankful Thursday:
I chatted the day away with a good friend.
My book work is going smoothly:)
Didn't have to make supper.....yup I ordered out. Hard to make supper when your on the phone all day, lol.

Making my own distress tools

First I want to thank everyone who commented on my Night of the Living Dead - Zombie mini album from yesterday. If you haven't seen it, you really should go and check it out ;)
I am happy to report that I received an email from Theresa saying that not only did she love it, but so did her husband. And you know how hard it is to get men excited about our craft, lol.

You know how I love my distress inks?
Well I did get an order of a few (teehee) more.
I usually use a wedged make up sponge with my inks. I only have two distress tools and they are pricey. So I figured a way to make my own.

I am also converting my wooden blocked stamps to easy mount.
So this is a perfect way to use up the wooden blocks :)

Spent most of my day catching up on my book work.
Stayed home, hiding out. I don't want to go out in public with my deformed face, lol.
It was suppose to be banking and grocery day, but hopefully I will look better to face the public tomorrow :).

Night of the Living Dead Album....yup I went there :)

I have finally finished my mini album for my design team Enchantments Scrapbooking .
I don't think this is what Theresa had in mind for her Vintage car mini album.

I made this album with certain photos in mind.
A few years ago when Ashley was in college she had an assignment for her photography class. It was called "History though Film". Not surprising she chose "Night of the Living Dead".
The whole family got involved. We had a blast working on this.
Ashley and I put a album together for her to turn it in to the teacher. We used old paper and I think I bound it with the bind it all.
I say think, because the teacher asked to keep it, and Ashley let him.

2. Reading a few chapters of my book
3. Taking care of this gross cold sore I have :(

Blogger is giving me issues tonight. I will type something and it doesn't show up or takes a while for the typed words to appear. Weird.

I need some Motivation

This is really motivating, but why am I so lazy to do anything :(
I think I need to blow this up like to like 5 feet, and put this on my fridge ;)

Onto My Day:
Woke up to a cold sore on my lip, now that was lovely.
I never get them on my lip, up my nose..yes, but never on my lip.

Worked on my album.
I am so close to finishing it. I only have the spine left to do and then go through it to see if I want to add anything else :)
I was looking for an empty shotgun shell for the album, but no one had one, not even Hubby.
So I had to compromise.

Sneezing a lot today, so hopefully I will sneeze this cold out of my system, teehee.

Hot Chocolate Soothes the Soul

Today was a good day :)
I spent most of my day in my craft room working on my album.
I enjoyed some yummy hot chocolate to ease my congestion from my cold.

Put Wayne to work today as well, lol.
Ashley bought a 47" LED television, so Wayne put up the wall mount in her room and hooked up the new TV.
Then I got him to cut some wood pieces for me. They were tiny and needed to be trimmed on the chop saw. Yea I could have done it, but I being that they were so small, I didn't want to lose a finger.
Wayne's fingers are so much bigger sooooo. Just kidding ;)

I am so close to finishing up my album.
It seriously takes me so long to complete an album.
I don't know how other crafters can finish one in a couple of days?

I am still battling this cold, it was pretty bad today....but I can tell it is getting better :)
Walking Dead was really good tonigh, but I now have to wait until February for a new one :( So Sad.

Happy Fakesgiving

Happy Fakesgiving ;)
Its our 2nd annual Fakesgiving.

I have had a few questions about my Fakesgiving, so let me explain.

Here in Canada we celebrate our Thanksgiving the second Monday of October it is a statutory, or public, holiday. I always host this holiday meal with my side of the family.
My girls wanted another celebration before Christmas, so I decided to celebrate the American Thanksgiving as well.
Of course it being an American holiday, we don't get the Thursday off, so I decided to make it Saturday.....hence "Fakesgiving" was born ;)

I have to confess this is not my turkey, I nabbed it from the Internet :)

Last year I invited my brother and his family, my sister and her family, and my daughters boyfriends.
This year I invited my SIL Sharon, her husband Jim, and the boyfriends.
I am battling this cold and of course it was in full force today. I did warn everyone, so they could back out if wanted.....but the turkey won, lol.
Nice evening and good food. Kristy made her famous Apple crisp for dessert.

Short post tonight, as my eyes are burning, my sinus's are plugged and I feel like a zombie.
Hubby gave me a Tylenol Sinus Nighttime. So I should be down and out for the count very soon.
I never take anything, I always just suffer though it...even an aspirin puts me out, so this will surely knock me out , lol.

Am I doing something wrong?
I have been trying to use the distress crackle paint.
It isn't coming out the way I think it should. I was expecting deeper cracks.
Actually the photo is showing off better then it actually looks.
I did add some distress powder to this as well.

I added a bit of ink to this one to show off the crackle a bit better.
This one has a smooth feel to it.
I am serious though, these are showing off way better on these photos then they really look.

I thought with this Distress crackle paint all I had to do was paint it on and that was it. I did use my heat tool to speed up the drying time. Maybe that is what the problem is.
Does anyone have any tips on how to make the crackle come out better?

Onto My Day:
Well it is official I have a nasty cold.
I went for a little nap this afternoon and slept for over an hour!!
Chatted on the phone with a friend for a few hours :) Had a lot of laughs :)
Sharon came by for scrap booking. She worked on some layouts from Christmas of last year. I worked on my mini album.
I NEED to finish this mini. I feel like such a flake. The mini I am working on is for my Design Team at Enchantments Scrapbooking. I know Theresa said no deadlines and no pressure. But seriously I feel like such a slacker.
I need to move my butt and get this done.
I am loving how it is turning out so far :)

Here is my two page spread.
I am not totally happy with the looks of this page though :(
But I wanted to play with my new distress inks....I have to justify purchasing them, teehee.

1st page is about my parents.
This one was a challenge for me.
I wasn't sure how much I wanted to share in this layout, that is why it took me so long to get this one done.
Honestly, I had a great childhood. Maybe not the most perfect one, but I have many great memories.

The second page is how I feel about being a mom. And the words around the page are how I hope my children feel.
Isn't that the best compliment on being a mom....when your children tell you, you did a good job. Love my girls.

Onto My Day:
Another unproductive day.
My girlfriend came for a short visit.....she was suppose to be working, but came for a visit....I was so happy to see her :)
Ran out and did a couple of errands.
Ashley took me on a date night ;)
Heather had a coupon for 2 free passes to the movies with 1 popcorn and 2 pop. She didn't want to use it (as there weren't any good movies she wanted to see). It expires tomorrow so it had to be used.
So she gave it to Ashley and I ......so I guess I should thank Heather for the date night ;)
Funny thing is Wayne and I gave these to her for Christmas last year, lol.

Oh I guess you want to know which movie we went to see? It was Breaking Dawn.
And everyone behaved themselves in the theatre tonight ;)

Thankful Thursday:
Being able to take it easy when I need to.

Distressed about my inks

I was working with my Distress Inks today.
I love these inks.
I usually use make up sponges to apply it. Even though I do have a couple of the distress tools, it just seems easier for me to grab a wedged sponge, then to attach the foam to the distress tool.
But I have an organizational idea I am going to work on during the weekend.
So I will share that then.
In the mean time, check out the pretty colours :)
Does it bother you that the one foam pad isn't straight. It was straight when I took the photo, I swear it was....unless hubby was teasing me again and moved it.

I store my inks on my peg board on an shelf. So they are stacked up and I can't see the tops of the ink pads.
So to help me get the correct colour I am looking for I put the names on the side fronts with my label maker, and ink the colour on the heart shape.
Can you tell which inks I use the most, or the ones that are new, lol.
I bought all these foam pads recently. Like I said I usually use the make up sponges.

I just opened one of my new inks today and the ink pad wasn't fully attached to the container.
I was bummed :(
I contacted Oozak (the place that I purchased the ink from) and before they replied to my email, they had another one on the way to me :)
Awesome customer service :)

Onto My Day:
I kind of vegged today.
I am getting a cold, my throat is sore and my eyes are burning :(
But I did work on my He-Art Challenge page. It was a bit of a tough theme for me this week.

I think I am going to soak in a nice hot tub, light a candle and read a bit of my book "Catching Fire".

Pretty colours and a movie vent

Look at all those pretty colours :)

I have been meaning to do this for a while now. I figured it was a no brainer to do while watching House and Castle last night.
What this is you may ask?
It is all my Stampin' Up marker colours.
I was colouring an image and wanted a bright red. Well the cap colours aren't the true colours of the marker inks, so this is way I can see the true colours of them :)

So what I did was punch out the paper.
I used Stampin' Up paper as I usually use that type of paper when I colour with these markers.

Then I coloured each tag.
The tags are tiny about 1/2" long.

Then I punch a hole on each one at the top.
Put them in some type of colour order and then strung them through a small key ring.

As I was colouring each one, I wrote the colour name on the back of the tags.
I attached this to the zipper on my case I use for these markers.
That way I can't lose them, teehee.

Onto My Day:
Went grocery shopping.
Took a nap ;)
Then went on a date night with my Baby...no not Wayne..Kristy. We went shopping and then to the movies.

She had a gift card for admissions for 2 people, and 1 popcorn and 2 pop. So she decided to take her mommy ;)
We went to see Paranormal Activities 3.
Now I know why hubby and I rather watch a movie at home.
People were so disrespectful and chatted and were loud through it.
Cell phones. They didn't ring, but the light is distracting when they text. These weren't kids either, they were women my age :(
Plus to top it off, a girl threw something at a couple of boys behing me and it hit me!!! Seriously, I did let her know I was not impressed.
Don't let me start on the guy behind me with the nervous foot on the back of my chair.

Proud Tuesday:
Cleaned the kitchen.
Kept my cool at the movies, but at the same time got my point across.
Walked around the house when I chatted with my SIL (for 1 1/2 hours), good way to get in my excercise ;)

Smash Travel Pages

I took the advice of others and am using the travel journal I had made when we went to Montana (to spread my dad's ashes) as a special one.
So for the travels we do in the future, will all be put into this Smash journal that I won :)

I have yet to decorate the front page.
But here are the 1st two pages of our mini trip that we just came back from.
I am a scrapbooker (you wouldn't know that by the lack of layouts I have done lately), so I still want to add photos to my pages.
I want to add the smaller photos though.

Onto My Day:
I think I may be coming down with something.
I have a headache, and just feel drained. I actually fell asleep sitting up on the couch this afternoon, lol.
I was chilled earlier so Wayne turned up the heat...now I am a bit warm (I am never warm). And no it is NOT hot flashes, lol.

We needed a new fax machine. If you know me, then you know technical things are Wayne's department not mine.
We bought a fax/photocopier/printer and photo printer all in one.
But it was still in the box, since Wednesday.
I really needed to send a fax today. So I hooked it up and sent out the fax :) I'm pretty proud of myself.
Well except the first one I sent was the wrong way and came out blank, lol.
Wayne came home and asked me if I had printed a photo. LOL, he has a lot of faith in me.

White Castle

We made it home safe and sound.
And now we are watching Walking Dead :)

Wayne and I have never been to White Castle.
We happen to drive by one yesterday when we were looking for a post office. So I told him we have to stop and try one.
Harold and Kumar would be proud, lol.
We really enjoyed them :)
Shhhh the girls were at Mall of America, so they didn't get to try one :(

I couldn't believe how tiny they were.
Perfect size for me.

Wayne's seemed smaller then mine though, lol.

That is it for me tonight.
I have to spray Kristy's new boots with protector so she can wear them tomorrow.

WARNING....This post is picture heavy.

Isn't this gorgeous?!? I say this with sarcasm dripping from my words.
There were so many accidents. Why does everyone still drive like a maniac when it is so slippery out?
The mall was jammed packed. I couldn't believe everyone out today. The streets were packed and the parkade was full.
We were one of the crazies, but to our defense we are from out of town ;)

So here are some more of my purchases from yesterday.
From a small Archivers in a mini mall.
Love the lamp post wooden embellishments.
I have yet to use tom boy multi adhesive, so thought I should give it a try and see what the hoop la is all about :)

I picked these up from Target from the dollar bin...their dollar bins are really a dollar ;)
I have been in search for these tins. I think if we go back to a Target, I am going to nab some more :)

Joann's goodies.
Some more dies and a fun stamp :)

I have been looking for one more of these Tree Ornament mini books, and our Michael's doesn't have any more. But picked these up....The dollar bins here are no longer just a dollar...they are $1.50, just like at home :(
I wanted a mister when I was doing my tags for my newest mini, but I didn't have any so I used the toothbrush flicking technique ;) Now I am like one of the cool kids, I got me some mini misters ;)

Now onto today's goodies.
Ran to Barns & Noble and look what I found!!!!
I have been checking our bookstore twice a week for this magazine and here it was just waiting for me :)
Also found Hocus Pocus :)

Went to Blicks and picked up the last of the Copic colours I needed...yes I needed them, lol.
Now I have all the Copic colours except for the florescent ones as I don't think I will ever use them...even though Hubby was trying to talk me into getting them. lol. He said I should have the complete collection. Yes he is one of my biggest enablers, lol.
Also picked up some gesso and gloss medium. I have never used it before, but I am really enjoying the art journal, so figured its time to step it up and try to play with the big boys, lol.
Picked up the Xyron refills at Tuesday Morning. They were 1/4 of price then at home.

I was at odds about the one pack because I knew I had it at home....but I always second guess myself. But then Wayne told me to just get it. So I usually listen to my hubby and did just that, teehee.
Maybe I will actually cut into it now that I have another pack :)

Picked up the Rock Candy, as I haven't tried it yet and it looks fun.

Minneapolis here we come.

The morning started out Very early.
We were up just after 5:00 am, and left the house by 6:15 am.
And it was snowing.
It was snowing so much that you couldn't see the lines on the road. So I couldn't fall asleep at first. It was like this for about an hour and a half, then it cleared up.
But once I could see the road, I fell fast asleep. And slept off and on the whole 7 hours.
Our first stop......
The Pine City Scrapbooking Co.
See Kristy sitting in the jeep. Doesn't she look so happy while I was shopping inside the store ;)

I was lucky enough to have been there while they were having a stamp sale :)
I guess it was like a garage sale, as there were a lot of used stamps for sale.
All these wooden blocked stamps were from the sale, I could have grabbed a lot more :)
The La La Land stamp wasn't one of the ones on sale, I also picked up some distress clear stickles.

They had some of the new G45 Primer paper. They didn't have the paper packs, so I picked up the single sheets. I also grabbed some beautiful Lost and Found papers.

Our next stop was Scrapbookers Too. Love this store.
See the pink and blue seasonal paper? It is really sparkly, I wish it would have shown up better.
I also picked up the 6x6 pack of the primer paper and the G45 Christmas stack. Funny thing is I have this Christmas paper at home. But I wasn't sure if it was the 12x12 or the 6x6, lol.
Also picked up some Neena paper :)

Picked up some dies and embossing folders.
Wayne enabled me with these, not that it took to much for me to grab them, lol.
They had buy 2 get one free.

I love to come here to pick up some Magnolia stamps.
Needed some foam pads (can't find these at home).
And these wood pieces are gorgeous.
Going to try my hand at some hand made some pearls with these liquid pearls. And I want to try out the distress stains :)

Wow I have been doing this for 17 weeks, and I haven't missed one yet ;)

WEEK 17 - SOUL Food

First I was going to go with Chocolate. I LOVE chocolate.....well actually I love sweets.
I am even known to hide chocolate, and hoard it for later.
Or share it with one of my girls who seem to need it at the time ;)

BUT I went with Coca-Cola.
Yup my addiction.
I have it down to one can of coke a day. I trick myself. See if I buy a 2 liter I feel it should only last 2 days, So I drink more.

Onto my challenge page.
I cut one of my pop cans in half.
All the Coke stickers are from Ashley. When she was into scrap booking she wanted them, then never used them. Perfect for my page :)

The black vines are sticky back felt.
I fed the vines through the pop tabs.

Ice cold Coke. Yummy :)

Onto My Day:
Picked up my photos, they are perfect this time.
I had to get an oil change for the jeep.
Travel insurance.
And go to the bank for American money ;)
Yup we are going to the States tomorrow.
I am so excited......to shop ;)
Not excited to be leaving at 6:00am though.

A trip to the mall.

I had some errands to do today, so called Ashley at work to meet me at the mall for lunch.
They had this display in the food court.
It is for the Christmas food drive.
I thought this was a pretty creative way to help put the point across to fill up some one's home with food.
The paper chain tree was a nice touch as well. I see they aren't finished painting the display though.

Last Saturday, Bath & Body Works opened up.
This is the first one in our town. I heard that the mall was packed.
Funny as they are right beside Lush.

Onto My Day:
I didn't get a chance to work on my mini album. So much for wanting to have it finished by Thursday :(
I am working on my Challenge page for the He-Art Journal right now.
I ran into my brother at the mall. We should have gone to lunch together, but I guess neither one of us thought of that...plus he was walking out of the mall with Taco Time ;)

I went to get 5 more photos done. I wanted them pretty small to fit into something. Well when I went to pick them up, the guy asked me if anyone told me there was a $10.00 charge to re size each one......WHAT, no actually he didn't, lol.
So he just charged me for the one. I also told him that I think that the photos are way to small. So he said he will redo them at no charge ;)
So I will pick up the new ones tomorrow.
I also went to my LSS and picked up some adhesive, I was on my last roll.
Adhesive and a stamp, yup that's it....they didn't carry my advent calendars either, but her husband said she will look into it ;)

I made it to the Big Screen ;)

Woke up this morning to thick frost.
But look at the pretty design it made on the hood of my jeep :)

Look my blog made it to the big screen.........TV that is, teehee.
Wayne and I have yet to see an episode of Castle this season. So he figured we should watch the ones we have missed on the Internet.
So we ran to Staples to pick up a special cord to hook my laptop to the TV.
After a half an hour he found a site where we could watch it from.
Only thing is we didn't know it was a trial thing and it cut out during the second episode, lol.
So we have to wait 57 minutes before we can resume watching. lol.
So we put my blog up on the TV, how cool is that ;)

Worked on my mini for a while today...as I watched Night of the Living Dead, and past shows of the Waking Dead ;)

Advent Calendar...I so want this..........

I WANT one of these...actually I want 4 of them.
I want to make one for Ashley,
One for Heather,
One for Kristy and
One for the Home....Mine ;)

I was searching all over for these. I do have a LSS, but she is closed on Monday's, so I will phone tomorrow and see if she carries them. I kind of have my doubts though.
I found one place online that has 3 of them.
But to ship them (to my U.S pick up place) by Friday, I will have to pay $25.00.
I did see that Joann's on-line sells them also, I wonder if they sell them in the actual store.
We don't have a Joann's here. But I will be going to one with weekend :)

Still working on my mini album.
And yes Becky, you are probably correct in why it takes me soooo long to complete a project ;)
I am almost finished my second page.
It does not look like I am going to be completed by my goal date of Thursday.
I just can't seem to take the short cuts. Sometimes I wish I could, but I can't.

The difference distress makes

I do like to distress things ;)
Here is the difference between the papers I distressed.
The one on the left is the paper in its raw form.
Then I distressed it with 3 distress inks and then I used some distress ink refill and added a bit of water to it and flicked it on the paper with a toothbrush......I don't think Wayne will miss it, lol.

Funny thing is I picked this paper because of the crackle look to it.
Now that it is distressed you can't hardly tell it had a crackle finish. But I do love how it looks.

I worked on my mini album today.
Why does it take me so long to complete anything :(
I am still working on my first page!
Then I discovered that I flipped my front cover to the back cover. So my first page turned into my second page ;(
So I have to remove my front cover and add it to my back cover.
Luckily I didn't add anything to the cover of my book or else I wouldn't be able to fix it...but then again if it was embellished, I wouldn't have screwed up.

Onto My Day:
Hubby and I slept in. He didn't go to work today. I woke up earlier then him, but didn't get up as I knew he would have woke up. He needs his sleep.
We took down the gazebo, and cleaned the backyard to get ready for (gasp) winter.
Worked on my mini album.
Hubby and I made a huge taco dip for the family :)
Now I am going to watch "Once Upon a Time" and them my all time favourite " Walking Dead ".

A little funny:
I say to my Hubby tonight, "You know I spend to much time on the computer, when I look at the television and expect to see the time on the bottom right hand side of the screen". LOL

Trying to keep organized

I thought I would share with you a little tip that is helping me stay organized while I am working on my newest project.
I end up loosing everything under my paper. Even my large tape gun!
I end up spending more time looking for items then I do working on my projects.
So this is the first time I tried this and so far so good.

I have 3 containers.
One for scraps and pre-cut papers.
One for different types of adhesive and scissors.
One for distress inks and applicators and rulers.

Here is my work area.
I covered up what I am working on...I want it to be a surprise :)
It may not look like a big area to work on, but with everything put into these containers, its more than I had before ;) See that is a 12x12 piece of paper...lots of room :)

Onto My Day:
Slept in....nothing like relaxing in bed before I start my day :)
Talked with my nephew on the phone for 2 hours.
Took Kristy and her boyfriend out for lunch.
Picked up a few groceries.
Worked a bit on my mini album.
Drove Blake home.
Picked up some toilet paper, as we only had 2 squares left...not 2 rolls, 2 squares. Remember there are 4 women in this family.

He-Art Journal Challenge week 16

I forgot to share my He-Art Journal challenge pages from yesterday.
I am so honoured I was featured on the Greeting Farm challenge for my Halloween (two toned) pages and this one :)

Here was our challenge:
WEEK 16: "Heart to Heart"

Use hearts on your page and have a little "heart to heart" with your soul while doing so, right?

I copied this from my blog entry, from February, Wayne's and my 23rd Anniversary.
I then drew and coloured the vines and the hearts growing out of the vines :)

Awww look how young we were ;)

I am not sure how well you can read this. I have to re size my photos in order to post them on their site.
And my original photo is on my external hard drive.

Onto My Day:
Went for my morning walk with Lynne.
An hour later it started to snow, big fluffy flakes. But it has since melted.
I worked on my mini album for a bit...and I mean a bit.
I seem to work better at night.
No matter how good my intentions are to work on it during the day, I never seem to get very far.
But at night I don't want to stop.

Watching GRIMM. No scrap booking night tonight, everyone was either busy or out of town.
Heather and I got Wayne into watching it ;)

I'm Distressed ;)

Look What I Picked Up Today :)

Yup the new Tim Holtz seasonal series distress inks!!!!
I had to drive 45 minutes to the border to pick them up, but it was so worth it.
OK, OK, I also ordered the other colours I didn't have ;)

Oops forgot to put in the photo, I also bought the distress crackle paint in Walnut stain.
I then found out there is a clear version of this. I will have to get it on my next on-line order ;)
I wish I would have known earlier to order the Tim Holtz fall seasonal distress inks. But I found out about them way too late.
I did go to order the Fall ones on a different site but I they wouldn't fill my order because of where I lived :(

I finally added the hot water to the Lindy's that Claudia and Theresa sent me :)
I don't know why I was so intimidated to add the water.
When I unscrewed the bottle on the right I thought that the straw thing was missing. Then I took the cap off and realized this one has a felt applicator. Sooo cool.

Today I received some Happy Mail :)
Tina from Homemade Memories sent me some goodies and a beautiful card. These will go perfect with my travel journal :)
Sadly my photo doesn't do this card justice, it is stunning. I love that beautiful butterfly on the front, and the colours are so feminine.
Thank you so much Tina, you are a sweet heart :)

Onto My Day:

Heather and I made a run to the border, no not for taco bell, teehee.
It all started with Ashley ordering shoes with a gift card. So I figured if I am heading that way, I might as well order myself a little something ;)
Then we went for lunch.
When I got home I worked on my cover for my newest project.
I remembered why I haven't painted for a while, I am inpatient when I have to let the paint dry. The second reason, washing out my brushes.

I had to go to Black's to get some photos printed. This is the first time I am making a book to fit my photos.
For some reason the machine at Black's didn't want to read all of my photos on my jump drive (I think that is what it is called). But I did get most of them done.
Ran to Michael's. Pretty bad when (yet again) I walk out there with nothing :(
I was hoping that they would have had some of the new $1.50 Christmas stamps, but Nope.

Watched Bones. Now going to check out some blogs.

What is your secret ?

I have been working and am focused on my newest mini album.

So because of that I have no new projects to share with you.

But I have another photo to share with you.

Heather took this photo last year when she was doing Project 365. She was doing a picture a day, no journaling though.

Actually Wayne and all the girls were doing this. The girls even put suggestions in a hat so if they got stumped they would get an idea from there.

What she did here was tape the lock to her wrist ;) Yes she raided my craft room, teehee.
She is so clever.
Heather just has a point and shoot camera, not a big boy one like Wayne and Ashley.

Onto My Day:
Like I said I was planning the pages for my mini album. I did start on the front cover :) Funny as the cover is always one of the last things I do.

I have been playing with my new laptop and learning more about it.
One thing I love about it, is that my email is nicely organized. When I get a new comment for my blog, they are all organized under that post in my email, not scattered amongst other emails :)
What I am having a problem with is signing in to google.
When I leave a message on someones blog, I have to sign in every time, then sign in again to do the word verification, then sign in yet again to make sure it went through. Frustrating.

Watching the end of Survivor. Its good, but thought there would have been more drama at the beginning of the show ;)

1st post on my New Laptop

I am finally using my new laptop.

Crazy it took me so long I know. But I felt like I needed to squeeze the last bit of life out of my old one. Plus I am attached to it.

I know I'm weird.

I don't have any photos on this laptop yet so I nabbed this one from my daughters Face book album.

It is a photo of my daughter Ashley, but it was created and the photo was taken by my other daughter Heather :)

I just love this photo. I love the idea (bird nest entangled in her hair) and the way she captured part of her face.

I tell you it was fun trying to keep that nest on her head, lol.

It is a real bird nest as well. It was a Robins nest from our cottage.

So onto my laptop, or should I say my old laptop.

It froze on me 3 times today. Luckily hubby got it working each time.

You may think, why did you need it working again, you have a new one.

Well I am the worlds worst procrastinator....I didn't download my photos :-0

They are safe and hopefully sound in my external hard drive now.

I would have been so upset if I didn't get that done, and it would have been my own fault.

I have not only all the photos of my family on there, I also have all the photos of my cards, mini books, videos and crafts on there.

Onto My Day:

Went out to Walmart with Ashley and Heather during her lunch. I have not been to Walmart for about a 6 months or longer. But Ashley saw some pretty frosted drinking glasses and thought I needed new ones. Yup I bought them :)

Then we went out for lunch in the food court in the mall.

I also say someone from my youth. He was surprised I recognized him, but I usually don't forget a face, no matter how much they have changed.

Chatted on the phone tonight with a blog friend.

Simple Tags

You know when you get an idea in your head and just have to try it out.
Well that happens to me a lot. Funny thing is, I usually end up forgetting about it before I get to trying it out.
Ya, ya I know, I should get my sketch book and jot them down.
But my book is down in my scrap/craft room. So what I have been doing is jotting them down on sticky notes, as I always have them in all over the house.

This is one of the ideas I had while I was working last week.
And I wrote it down this time ;)
The idea was to make tags with my chipboard scraps.
It is a tag made only with scraps.

I have so many little pieces of thick book board or chipboard left over from my mini albums and wanted to use them up.
Also lots of scraps, and I mean lots of scraps.
Chipboard letters that I have NEVER used.
Adhesive and of course my hand made tissue tape :)

I cut the chipboard with my Tim Holtz on the edge die, but you don't have to.
Cover the chipboard and the chipboard letter circle with paper, ink the edges and then punch holes in the tag and the circle (so it looks like a button).
Add the embellishments and its good to go :)

I have so many small pieces of chipboard, I can probably make one for every gift I give this Christmas.
I was going to make a Christmas one, but I wanted to share it on my blog....and nothing Christmasy til December.......wonder if I can last till then, lol.

Hand made tissue tape.

I got to play a bit today.
Well actually I could have played all day, but I ....actually I really didn't do to much but laze around.
I was jumping around on YouTube and blogs last week and came across this cool idea.
How to make your own tissue tape.
Sadly I don't recall which blog it was though. Plus she called it washi tape.

Here is the finished card I made with my homemade tissue tape.

First you will need some two way (double sided) tape. I used the left over tape from when we put the plastic on the windows of our camp. You could use sticky strip, or score tape, or any other 2 way tape with a film on it. You will also need tissue paper, stamp, ink and scissors.

Next you are going to adhere your tissue paper onto your two way tape.
Then trim the overhang off.

Then stamp, and stamp and stamp :)

The hearts were neat, but I wanted to take it up a notch.
So what I did was after I adhered the tissue paper, I inked the tissue with tea dye distress ink.
Then stamped the tape measure stamp with vintage photo.
I love how this turned out :)

I inked around the edges of tissue before adhering it to the card front.
As you can see, I didn't line these ones up perfectly, but I like this look.
Just think of the endless possiblities....coloured tissue paper or pattern tissue paper.

I wrapped crochet cotton around the bobbin.

Slept in again, even with the time change, teehee. I love weekends ;)
Heather got me to watch GRIMM. Oh it was really good. I think I have to add this show of my must sees.
Only downfall is it is on Friday Night, which is my scrap booking night. So I will have to watch it online.

Walking Dead is on, so I have to run and enjoy my zombies ;)

This was the view from our backyard tonight.
Doesn't that look eerie and beautiful at the same time.
I looks more blue in the photo, but to the actual eye it is more black/grey.

Onto My Day:

I slept in ahhhhhh.
Actually I only slept in for a bit, but then just relaxed in bed for a loooong time...why.....because I could ;)
Then Heather, Kristy and I checked out an open house at the end of our street.
They built 2 new homes. So we checked it out.
It is 1800sq.feet, it has 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths, attached garage. The basement was unfinished except for one of the bathrooms and the laundry room (which was huge, it was as big as a bedroom).
They were asking $398000.00!!!! I know the house market right now is crazy, but wow.
I joked with the kids that we should sell our house (we would make nice profit) and live at our cottage until the house market gets better, lol. But a 2 hour commute one way would be a bit much, lol.
The girls told me we should buy it.
But I told them I couldn't buy a house so close to our home. You can see ours from the livingroom.
I would be sad seeing another family living in our home. Is that wierd?

Ran to Michael's. They had some beautiful Christmas papers in. Sadly I didn't get any as I have 2 sterilite containers full of just Christmas paper.
But I did do an online purchase....are you proud of me, lol.
I bought the new Tim Holtz holiday distress inks, oh and a few distress inks that I didn't have, oh and some of his distress crackle paint. I HAD spend $50.00 to get free shipping....even though I am going over the border to pick them up, lol.
I think I made a mistake. I got a new visa card just for online shopping. I made sure it has a smaller limit just in case someone hacks it. Yes I am paranoid.

Hope you all had a creative day today. The most creative I got was putting away all my supplies for last night ;)
